GAMEDAY (Nov. 22, 2016): One week after making its season and home debut, the Engineers (2-1) host area-rival Sage (1-2) to East Campus Arena.

RPI TO DATE: RPI won its first game of the year last Tuesday, defeating SUNY Cobleskill by 31 points, 84-53 ... The Engineers then beat Elms College as part of the Cardinal Classic, 77-71, before losing to the host, Plattsburgh State, 92-73, on Sunday.

GAME 1: RPI put six student-athletes in double digits in points and the Engineers defeated SUNY Cobleskill, 84-53 ... Rensselaer scored 11 of the first 15 points of the game and went on to close the first half on a 30-19 run for a 41-29 advantage ... Brian Hatcher and Andreas Kontopidis both had 13 points in the win for the Engineers, which got 11 points from three different players.

GAME 2: Sophomore Tom Horvat scored a career-high 31 points to lead Rensselaer to a come-from-behind victory over Elms ... Horvat connected on 9 of 21 field goal attempts, including 4 of 12 from three-point range, and was 9 of 10 from the free throw line ... He added two rebounds and an assist in 33 minutes ... Senior captain Brian Hatcher recorded a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds.

GAME 3: Jonathan Patron and Eli Bryant combined for 41 points to lead Plattsburgh to a 92-73 win over RPI ... The host Cardinals shot 56.9% from the floor, including 59.4% in the first half to take a 49-41 lead after 20 minutes ... Rensselaer's Brian Hatcher led all scorers with 25 points, while Tom Horvat and Jonathan Luster tallied 12 points apiece and Kevin Davis scored 11 ... Luster led the team with eight rebounds.

ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM: Tom Horvat and Brian Hatcher were named the Cardinals Classic All-Tournament Team.

WEEKLY HONOR ROLL: Senior Brian Hatcher was chosen to the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 17.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists with three steals, three blocked shots and six turnovers in three games last week ... He shot .529 (18 of 34) from the floor and .667 (12 of 18) from the foul line. 

LAST SEASON: RPI used a balanced attack to collect the 71-67 victory ... Rensselaer held a 34-26 lead at the break and never relinquished it, despite the Gators' hitting clutch three-pointers ... Jonathan Luster (Essex, CT/Valley Regional) made his free throws down the stretch, hitting six of six in the final 42 seconds ... Tom Horvat had 17 points.
