Men's Hockey Travels to UNH Tuesday

Engineers open three-game week against Wildcats (7pm)

THREE IN FIVE
Rensselaer departs on a three-game road trip this week, beginning at New Hampshire on Tuesday night (7pm) ... The Engineers then head to Arizona State for a two-game series on Friday (9pm ET) and Saturday (7pm ET) ... RPI resumes ECAC Hockey play on December 2 and 3 at Quinnipiac and Princeton.

ALL-TIME VS. NEW HAMPSHIRE
UNH owns a 25-23-0 lead in the all-time series, which dates back to the first ever meeting on February 7, 1964 – 10-1 RPI win in Troy ... Neither team has won more than five games in a row, with RPI taking each of the last three.

RECENTLY VS. THE WILDCATS
Rensselaer has won four of the last five meetings with UNH, including the last three in a row ... The Wildcats last win came on January 5, 2013, in Durham ... The Engineers have earned wins of 4-2, 2-1 and 4-3 over the last three seasons.

NOVEMBER 24, 2015
The Engineers came away with a 4-3 win at the Houston Field House over New Hampshire, thanks to a go-ahead goal from Alex Rodriguez with 4:01 left in the third period ... RPI scored the first three goals of the game - all before the halfway point in the contest - before the visits came roaring back to tie it at 3-3 ... Andrew Poturalski netted a hat trick for UNH, while Jake Wood had a goal and an assist for the Engineers ... Cam Hackett picked up the win in goal, stopping 35 of 38 shots.

FIRST GOALS
Three RPI skaters have recorded their first collegiate goals in the last four games ... Sophomore Brady Wiffen netted his first against Clarkson on November 11, freshman Patrick Polino potted his first against St. Lawrence on November 12, before Jacob Hayhurst tallied his first in the Cherry & White against Ohio State on November 19.

OHIO STATE SWEEP ENGINEERS
The 14th-ranked Buckeyes swept a two-game series at the Houston Field House over the weekend by scores of 4-0 and 3-2 ... Matt Tomkins had 28 saves in a shutout on Friday, before Tanner Laczynski scored the third period winner on Saturday ... Jacob Hayhurst netted his first collegiate goal for the Engineers, while senior captain Riley Bourbonnais had a goal and an assist ... Sophomore goaltender Chase Perry matched his RPI-high with 37 saves.

CAPTAINS ANNOUNCED
Eleventh-year head coach Seth Appert has announced that seniors Riley Bourbonnais and Jimmy DeVito will wear the 'C' for the 2016-17 season, while classmate Parker Reno will serve as the lone alternate.

MODEL OF CONSISTENCY
Dating back to last season, senior captain Riley Bourbonnais has at least one point in 22 out of 25 weekends, including all six this season.

SPECIAL TEAMS
The Engineers enter the weekend with the ninth-best penalty kill in the nation at 89.0% (69 for 77) ... On the man advantage, RPI is converting at a 14.7% rate (11 for 75), including 15.2% (5 for 33) in November.

SHORTHANDED GOALS
RPI's three shorthanded goals are good for sixth in the nation ... Senior Riley Bourbonnais' two shorties are tied with nine other players for the most in the country.

EARLY POINT LEADERS
Sophomore Evan Tironese has a team-high 14 points on three goals and 11 assists ... Senior captain Riley Bourbonnais (6 goals, 6 assists) has 12 points, while junior Jared Wilson (6 goals, 1 assist) and freshman Jacob Hayhurst (1 goal, 6 assists) have seven apiece.
