Engineers face Sun Devils on Friday (7:05pm) and Saturday (5pm)

TWO IN THE DESERT
The Engineers travel to Arizona State for the first time in school history on Friday and Saturday ... Puck drop is scheduled for 9:05pm ET on Friday and 7pm ET on Saturday.

EIGHT ON THE ROAD
Rensselaer is in the early stages of an eight-game road trip, which began on November 22 at New Hampshire ... The Engineers aren't home again until January 3 against UMass-Lowell.

2015-16 VS. ASU
RPI swept a two-game series with the Sun Devils at the Houston Field House last December 11 and 12 ... The Engineers received a pair of goals from Jesper Ohrvall to win 5-1, before Riley Bourbonnais notched a goal and an assist to help RPI to a 4-1 in the series finale ... Jason Kasdorf and Cam Hackett each started a game and recorded 23 saves.

PACING THE SUN DEVILS
Arizona State is led offensively by senior Robbie Baillargeon, who has six goals and four assists for 10 points ... Freshman Todd Busch (5 goals, 2 assists) and junior Dylan Hollman (1 goal, 6 assists) have seven points apiece.

ARIZONA STATE GOALTENDING
Freshman Joey Daccord (1-6) has played in eight games (7 starts) and carries a 5.40 goals against average and a .859 save percentage ... Senior Robert Levin (1-3-0) has a 5.51 goals against average and an .868 save percentage, while sophomore Ryland Pashovitz (0-2-0) has a 4.73 goals against average and an .879 save percentage.

FIRST GOALS
Three RPI skaters have recorded their first collegiate goals in the last four games ... Sophomore Brady Wiffen netted his first against Clarkson on November 11, freshman Patrick Polino potted his first against St. Lawrence on November 12, before Jacob Hayhurst tallied his first in the Cherry & White against Ohio State on November 19.

RENSSELAER BLANKED AT UNH
RPI dropped a 5-0 decision at New Hampshire on Tuesday night ... Tyler Kelleher, Michael McNicholas and Dylan Maller all recorded a goal and an assist ... Wildcats goaltender Daniel Tirone stopped all 25 shots he faced for the shutout, while RPI sophomore netminder Cam Hackett had 32 stops.

OHIO STATE SWEEP ENGINEERS
The 14th-ranked Buckeyes swept a two-game series at the Houston Field House over the weekend by scores of 4-0 and 3-2 ... Matt Tomkins had 28 saves in a shutout on Friday, before Tanner Laczynski scored the third period winner on Saturday ... Jacob Hayhurst netted his first collegiate goal for the Engineers, while senior captain Riley Bourbonnais had a goal and an assist ... Sophomore goaltender Chase Perry matched his RPI-high with 37 saves.

CAPTAINS ANNOUNCED
Eleventh-year head coach Seth Appert has announced that seniors Riley Bourbonnais and Jimmy DeVito will wear the 'C' for the 2016-17 season, while classmate Parker Reno will serve as the lone alternate.

MODEL OF CONSISTENCY
Dating back to last season, senior captain Riley Bourbonnais has at least one point in 22 out of 25 weekends, including all six this season.

SPECIAL TEAMS
The Engineers enter the weekend with the eighth-best penalty kill in the nation at 89.7% (70 for 78) ... On the man advantage, RPI is converting at a 14.1% rate (11 for 78).

SHORTHANDED GOALS
RPI's three shorthanded goals are good for eighth in the nation ... Senior Riley Bourbonnais' two shorties are tied with eight other players for the most in the country.

EARLY POINT LEADERS
Sophomore Evan Tironese has a team-high 14 points on three goals and 11 assists ... Senior captain Riley Bourbonnais (6 goals, 6 assists) has 12 points, while junior Jared Wilson (6 goals, 1 assist) and freshman Jacob Hayhurst (1 goal, 6 assists) have seven apiece.

IN THE CIRCLE
Freshman Jacob Hayhurst has won a team-high 51.4% of his face-offs, while senior captain Riley Bourbonnais is second at 50.0% ... Classmate and co-captain Jimmy DeVito rounds out the top three at 45.8% ... As a team, the Engineers have a 43.7% success rate on the draw.
