GAMEDAY (Dec. 31, 2016): The Engineers (7-3; 1-0) conclude 2016 with a home game against league foe St. Lawrence (7-1; 1-0).

FOUR OF FIVE: RPI has won four of its last five games, including a 74-70 win over RIT in the conference opener on Friday.

FRIDAY'S GAME: RPI jumped out to big leads to start both halves and the Engineers held off RIT, 74-70 ... RPI raced out to a 31-15 lead 11:55 into the contest ... RIT pulled to within three points, 39-36, at halftime ... The Engineers built a 13-point lead, 51-38, in less than five minutes to start the second half ... RIT got to within four points three times but the Engineers got to the rim and made free throws.

TOP SCORERS: In Friday's victory over RIT (74-70), RPI sophomore Andreas Kontopidis had a team-high 18 points with a team-best eight rebounds, three assists and a block ... Tom Horvat, also a sophomore, scored 17 points with four rebounds, two assists and a steal ... Senior Jonathan Luster had 12 points, a rebound, two assists, a block and three steals.

ST. LAWRENCE TO DATE: The Saints have won seven of their first eight contests, including a 75-63 win at Union on Friday ... SLU is now 2-1 on the road with a win at SUNY Potsdam (88-84) in the season opener and a loss at nationally-ranked Amherst (90-68) on November 19.

HOT: SLU has won five consecutive games.

FRIDAY'S GAME: Kyle Edwards, Riley Naclerio and Willie Zachery each scored in double figures to lead a balanced attack for St. Lawrence in a 75-63 victory at Union ... Edwards led the Saints with 16 points while Naclerio scored 15 and Zachery added 14 ... The trio combined to hit 22 of the 30 free throws converted for St. Lawrence.

JANUARY 22, 2016: RPI scored the final 13 points to defeat St. Lawrence by 11 points, 72-61 ... Trailing 61-59 with just over two minutes to play, RPI tied the game on a put-back and then made a three-point shot with 1:30 to go ... A layup made it 66-61 with 53 seconds remaining and four free throws followed by a layup concluded the scoring ... Tom Horvat led RPI with 15 points, along with four rebounds, a game-high five assists and a steal. 

FEBRUARY 6, 2016: Kyle Edwards scored 27 points to lead St. Lawrence to an 81-62 victory over RPI ... The Saints jumped out to an early lead and had a double-digit advantage just five minutes into the contest on their way to victory ... Asa Barnhill led the Engineers with 11 points.
