GAMEDAY: The Engineers and Union take to the court in a Liberty League contest ... Following this game, RPI has two contests remaining: Friday at Bard and next Sunday at home against Vassar.

ALUMNI WEEKEND: Welcome back to all the Rensselaer men's basketball alumni who have returned to campus!

LAST TIME OUT: For the second straight game, freshman Tom Horvat scored more than 20 points, but it was not enough as Rensselaer was defeated by Skidmore, 73-66, last night ... Horvat scored 24 points after registering 28 on Tuesday, while senior Tyler Gendron scored 17 points with six rebounds and Chase Almond added 10 points and eight rebounds.

TWENTY-PLUS: Freshman Tom Horvat has scored more than 20 points in eight games this season, including four of the last five.

TEN-PLUS: Engineers senior Chase Almond has reached double digits in rebounds in six games, most recently on January 29 at RIT when he pulled down 11 boards.

NEARING 1000: Rensselaer senior Tyler Gendron has scored 924 career points, having notched 224 as a freshman, 222 as a sophomore and 256 last year ... He has 222 points thus far this season.

UNION OF LATE: The hottest team in the Liberty League, Union has won five straight games and have moved into a three-way tie for first place ... Four of those victories have been league contests and four have come on the road ... The Dutchmen defeated Vassar last night at home, 74-48.

FIRST MEETING: William Hython had a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds as Union College defeated Rensselaer ... Deshon Burgess had 13 points with eight rebounds for the Dutchmen, who held a 50-32 edge on the boards ... Tom Horvat had a game-high 23 points with four assists for the Engineers ... Sophomore Asa Barnhill scored 13 points while freshman Marcus Giese led the guests with eight rebounds. 

LAST SEASON: On January 9, 2015, in Troy, Union put three players into double figures in points and Ryan Whelpley had a game-high 16 rebounds for the Dutchmen, who defeated Rensselaer, 70-47 ... Union shot 45.9 percent from the floor while holding the Engineers to 28.1 percent ... Josh Dugas (14 points) and Jonathan Luster (10) reached double figures for RPI ... Fifteen days later, Kevin Weckworth had a team-high 24 points and William Hython posted 18 points and 14 rebounds as Union won, 86-75 ... Leading the Engineers was Dugas, who scored a game-high 26 points ... Also in double figures for RPI was Brian Hatcher with 14 points and Chase Almond, who netted 10.
