NATIONAL POLL: In the latest USILA/NIKE Coaches Poll, Rensselaer is among the schools receiving votes, while Ithaca (2-0) is ranked 18th ... RPI was 20th before losing at Keene State last week ... John Phillips ... Hogan and Phillips were captains last season, while Brisson and Gibbs are in their first seasons in that role at RPI.

Breanainn McNeally, who scored 35 goals with nine assists for 44 points in 15 games ... Senior attack

IN GOAL: Junior
David Gibbs started all 15 games in goal in 2015, posting an 8.56 goals against average and a .556 save percentage.
STRONG MAN-DOWN: For the second consecutive season, the Rensselaer men's lacrosse team led the nation in man-down conversion percentage, allowing just three goals in 42 opportunities in 2015 ... The rate of 92.9% was the best in all of NCAA lacrosse - at any division - and a school record ... RPI was the only program above 90% with Concordia Wisconsin finishing second in Division III at 89.8% (53 of 59) ... Saint Joseph's led Division I at 80% (48 of 60) and NYIT paced Division II at 83.1% (59 of 71).
PRE-SEASON POLL: RIT was picked to win the Liberty League ... The Engineers were slotted to finish in fourth place.
ITHACA TO DATE: The Bombers are off to a 2-0 start after defeating Marywood, 16-4, last Saturday and Lycoming, 20-1, on Tuesday ... John Januskiewicz scored seven times in the opener, while 12 different players tallied against the Warriors, including Witt Witter's four markers ... Ithaca held an 11-0 lead after the first quarter against Lycoming.
LEAGUE WELCOME: Liberty League Commissioner Tracy King announced in December that Ithaca has accepted an invitation for membership and will become the 11th full-member institution ... Ithaca is expected to begin competing in most sports starting in the 2017-18 academic year.
