GAMEDAY: The Engineers (5-2) play host to Vassar (4-3) in a Liberty League contest at East Campus Stadium (1pm).

HOME AGAIN: Saturday's game is the first at home for Rensselaer since March 12 ... RPI has played four consecutive road games.

ROAD TESTED: The Engineers have played five of their first seven games at the opposition's site, going 4-1 with four straight wins.

RIGHT BACK HERE: Rensselaer is right back in action on Tuesday when Oneonta visits East Campus Stadium for a 4pm non-league showdown.

STAYING LOCAL: Each of the Engineers' next four games are in the Capital Region, despite two being on the road ... After hosting Vassar and Oneonta, RPI plays at Union in Schenectady on April 9 and at Skidmore in Saratoga Springs the following Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT: On Wednesday, Rensselaer got three points from five different student-athletes to defeat Plattsburgh State, 9-6 ... Breanainn McNeally had three goals, Matthew Gilman and Lucas Bastarache notched two goals and an assist, and JT Kelly and Matt Hall scored once with two helpers to lead the Engineers ... RPI scored six consecutive goals in the two middle quarters to turn a 4-3 deficit into a 9-4 lead ... Junior Billy Gibbs made 11 saves for the win.

SEASON STATS: Rensselaer has outscored its opponents 83-58 in seven games, while also leading in shots (238-220), shots on goal (133-110) and man-up goals (13-5).

BALL PICKUP: The Engineers are 3-0 when winning the battle for ground balls and 2-1 when they do not ... Rensselaer lost the one game (Keene State) when both teams had the same number of ground balls (21).

GOALIE NUMBERS: RPI's netminders have made four more saves (70-66) than the opposition and have a higher save percentage as well (.547-.443).
RPI VS. VASSAR ALL-TIME: Vassar is looking for its first victory versus RPI, having fallen in all 17 games since their first meeting in 1999 ... The Engineers edged the Brewers, 9-8, at ECAV last year.

MOST RECENTLY: On March 21, 2015, RPI's Pat Finn scored with 59 seconds to tie the game and Casey Colligan notched the game-winning goal on a man-up with only 21 seconds left as No. 18 Rensselaer defeated the Brewers, 9-8, in the Liberty League opener for both teams ... The game featured five lead changes and seven goals in the fourth quarter ... Breanainn McNeally and Finn shared identical stat lines for the Engineers, scoring twice with one assist ... Noah Parson and Liam Moriarty led the way for Vassar, recording two goals and an assist each.

VASSAR TO DATE: The Brewers began the season with a 19-7 win over Western Connecticut before losing at Montclair State, 11-7 ... Vassar has gone on to win three of its next five, including its last two ... In its last game, March 26, the Brewers opened conference play with a 12-10 victory over Skidmore ... Noah Parson and James Thomas each scored hat tricks, as seven Brewers found the back of the net ... Sam Houston-Read scored the go-ahead goal, 10-9, with 7:17 remaining in the contest, as the Brewers outscored the Thoroughbreds 3-1 to end the game ... Brandon Crecco earned the win with 11 saves.

COMMON OPPONENT: RPI and Vassar have both played Connecticut College ... The Engineers defeated the Camels, 11-7, on March 23 ... The Brewers lost to Conn., 13-3, on March 9 ... Both games were played in New London, Conn. 

CAPTAINS: Seniors Ryan Brisson, Billy Gibbs, Pat Hogan and John Phillips are captains ... Hogan and Phillips were captains last season, while Brisson and Gibbs are in their first seasons.
