TROY, N.Y. - Senior Ryan Brisson scored twice with three assists and the No. 16 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's lacrosse team scored the first 10 goals of the game on its way to a 13-4 victory over Drew University in a non-league game at East Campus Stadium.

NOTEWORTHY
  • RPI led 8-0 after the first quarter with Brisson collecting two goals and two assists
  • Junior Breanainn McNeally scored three of the first five goals with Brisson assisting on two of them ... Both plays were diagonal passes to just outside the crease with the Engineers in transition.
  • Junior Matt Hall made it 6-0 when he beat his man in a 1-on-1 situation and scored ... The goal was the 100th career point for the midfielder.
  • Sophomore Zachary Lukas scored the first goal of the second quarter - his first of the season - off a pass from Brisson - for a 9-0 lead ... Lukas then found Hall cutting down the right side and Hall made it 10-0 at 5:55 of the first half.
  • Half of Rensselaer's first half goals were assisted.
  • RPI outshot Drew 24-7 in the first half and held a 19-12 edge in ground balls, despite both teams winning six faceoffs ... The Engineers were 14 of 14 on clears.
  • Junior Teddy Sweeney made seven saves for the Rangers ... Senior starter Troy Manchester stopped the one shot he faced in the first half.
  • Junior Tom Cotroneo got the visitors on the scoreboard with his first of three goals, scoring unassisted after backing down his defender, at 8:49 of the third quarter.
  • Hall and McNeally answered before the frame ended with McNeally's marker, his team-leading 46th of the season, came after he picked up a loose ball and scored behind the back, just beating the buzzer at the end of the quarter.
  • Drew scored three of the four goals of the fourth quarter with Cotroneo notching two and Steven Cola one ... Cotroneo finished with eight shtos and a game-high six ground balls.
  • Sweeney finished with 17 saves, including eight in the third quarter.
