Engineers set for first home contest since November 19

RINGING IN 2017
The Engineers welcome UMass Lowell to the Houston Field House on Tuesday (7pm), following a season-long eight game road trip ... It is the River Hawks' first trip to Troy since December 16, 2006 ... RPI won that game, 2-1, behind goals from Paul Kerins and Matt Angers-Goulet.

ENGINEERS FALL AT HARVARD
Rensselaer returned to the ice after a 20-day layoff on Friday and fell at No. 4 Harvard, 5-1 ... Five different players found the scoresheet for the Crimson, while freshman Jacob Hayhurst netted the lone RPI tally – an unassisted goal at 7:46 of the second period ... Cam Hackett made 33 saves for the Engineers, while Merrick Madsen had 30 stops for Harvard.

SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks enter the weekend at 12-5-3 overall and 6-3-1 in Hockey East ... They are led offensively by senior Joe Gambardella (10 goals, 21 assists), who has 31 points ... Junior C.J. Smith (13 goals, 11 assists) has 24 points, while senior Dylan Zink (7 goals, 12 assists) has 19.

RIVER HAWKS GOALTENDING
Freshman Tyler Wall (11-4-1) has started 14 of the team's 20 games between the sticks ... He carries a 2.07 goals against average and a .919 save percentage ... Three others have seen time in goal, including sophomore Garrett Metcalf, who is 1-0-1 with a 2.32 goals against average and a .922 save percentage.

2015-16 VS. UMASS LOWELL
The Engineers opened the 2015-16 season with a 3-0 defeat at UMass Lowell on October 9, 2015 ... A.J. White, Evan Campbell and Adam Chapie all tallied for the River Hawks, who out-shot Rensselaer, 38-27 ... Jason Kasdorf made 35 saves for the Engineers, while Kevin Boyle had 27 stops for the River Hawks.

MODEL OF CONSISTENCY
Dating back to last season, senior captain Riley Bourbonnais has at least one point in 24 out of 28 weekends ... His scoreless trip to Quinnipiac and Princeton was his first and only fruitless weekend in nine this year.

SPECIAL TEAMS
The Engineers enter the week's action with the fifth-best power play in ECAC Hockey at 17.9% (19 for 106) ... RPI's 19 power play goals are second most in the league ... The penalty kill comes in at 81.7% (94 for 115).

CAPTAINS SCORING
Senior captains Riley Bourbonnais (2 goals) and Jimmy DeVito (2 goals) each netted goals against Yale and Brown on December 9 and 10.

STREAKS SNAPPED
Juniors Viktor Liljegren (2 goals, 3 assists) and Mike Prapavessis (1 goal, 4 assists) both saw their three-game point streaks snapped last Friday at Harvard.

TOP SCORING DEFENSEMAN
Junior defenseman Jared Wilson lead the nation in goals by a defenseman with eight ... His 11 points rank ninth among ECAC Hockey blueliners.
