RPI COMES BACK AGAINST QU
Trailing 3-1 after one period of play, the Engineers rallied for a 5-3 victory over then-No. 16 Quinnipiac, last Friday night at the Houston Field House ... Sophomore Jacob Hayhurst pulled the hosts to within 3-2, before senior Viktor Liljegren tied it at 3-3 ... Liljegren went on to score the eventual game-winning tally with 1:32 left in the third, before adding an empty-netter for a natural hat trick ... Junior Chase Perry finished with 36 saves for RPI.

PRINCETON PULLS AWAY
The Engineers dropped their most recent contest, 6-2, to Princeton on Saturday night ... After the Tigers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, RPI senior Jared Wilson and freshman Billy Jerry knotted the score with back-to-back tallies ... Jackson Cressey then gave the visitors a 3-2 before the end of the first period ... Princeton added a fourth goal in the second, before tacking on two more in the third.

RPI LEADERS
Sophomore Jacob Hayhurst leads the Engineers with nine points on five goals and four assists through 10 games ... Junior Evan Tironese (4 goals, 3 assists) and freshman Troy York (2 goals, 5 assists) have seven points apiece, while three players have six points, including senior assistant captain Viktor Liljegren (5 goals, 1 assist).

ENGINEERS GOALTENDING
Junior netminder Chase Perry has started eight games for the Engineers this season, going 1-5-2 with a 3.28 goals against average and a .906 save percentage ... Freshman Linden Marshall is 1-0-1 with a 3.71 goals against average and a .902 save percentage, having beaten RIT in his debut on October 21.

ALL-TIME VS. THE IRISH
RPI and Notre Dame have split their eight lifetime meetings, 4-4-0 ... The Engineers took the inaugural meeting, 6-0, on December 29, 1988, at the Houston Field House, as well as their second match up on December 30, 2000, 6-2 – also in Troy ... The Fighting Irish won four straight in the series from January 2, 2005 to October 21, 2011, before the Engineers snapped the streak in the most recent contest between the two schools on October 10, 2014 – a 3-2 victory in South Bend.

Viktor Liljegren, Jacob Laliberte and Mark Miller tallied to lead the Engineers to a 3-2 victory at Notre Dame on October 10, 2014 ... Jason Kasdorf made 31 saves for RPI ... Jordan Gross and Mario Lucia netted the Fighting Irish goals, with Chad Katunar stopping 26 of 29 shots.

SCOUTING NOTRE DAME
The fourth-ranked Fighting Irish enter the weekend on a five-game winning streak, having swept Ohio State and Penn State to open Big Ten play ... Notre Dame has swept three out of its six series on the season, with its last defeat coming on October 26 against Nebraka-Omaha, 6-4 ... The Irish's only series loss came on October 13 and 14, when they tied and lost to current national No. 1 Denver.

Sophomore Cale Morris (7-1-0) has a 2.05 goals against average and a .935 save percentage in nine games (8 starts) ... He has one shutout to his credit ... Freshman Dyan St. Cyr (1-2-1) has a 3.22 goals against average and a .914 save percentage in four starts, with one shutout.

FIRST GOALS
Sophomore Max Reisinger and freshman Troy York each picked up their first collegiate goals recently ... Reisinger netted RPI's opening tally at Niagara on October 20, while York potted the eventual game-winner, late in the first period at RIT on October 21 ... York later scored a second.

AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS
The Engineers are third in the nation in shooting percentage at 12.8% ... They are second only to Cornell (14.0%) among ECAC Hockey schools.

INDIVIDUALLY
Junior Evan Tironese has scored on 28.6% of his shots on goal, which ranks seventh among league players ... Sophomore blueliner Will Reilly is 11th at 27.8%, netting five goals on 18 shots.

WILSON RECOGNIZED
Twenty of the top Division I NCAA men's hockey student-athletes have been named as candidates for the 2017-18 Senior CLASS Award and RPI senior defenseman Jared Wilson has been selected ... A captain from Calgary, Alb., Wilson is a business and management major with a 3.79 cumulative grade point average ... Compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall semester of 2016, he is a multiple Dean's List selection and has earned ECAC Hockey All-Academic all three years eligible to date ... An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

Sophomore Jacob Hayhurst ranks 10th in the conference in plus/minus with a +5 rating ... The Engineers have four freshmen in the top 21 in rookie scoring, including Troy York (2 goals, 5 assists), who is third ... York is sixth among ECAC Hockey first-year skaters in points per game (0.78).

BLOCKING SHOTS
RPI has blocked 109 shots through 10 games this season, which ranks sixth in ECAC Hockey ... Senior captain Jared Wilson leads the way with 18, while classmate Mike Prapavessis is second with 12 ... Junior Brady Wiffen paces all Engineers forwards with nine.

ON THE DRAW

The Engineers are 0-7-2 against Big Ten schools since the conference formed in 2013-14 ... RPI did defeat current B1G school, Notre Dame, 3-2, in 2014, but it's last win over a school from the original B1G came on December 29, 2009, at the Great Lakes Invitational, when the Engineers defeated Michigan, 4-3, at Joe Louis Arena.
