ENGINEERS SWEPT BY UNION
The Engineers dropped both games of their ECAC Hockey-opening series to Union College, by scores of 4-3 and 4-2 ... Chase Perry had 25 saves in each game, while Todd Burgess (1 goal, 1 assist) and Brady Wiffen (1 goal, 1 assist) paced the team offensively ... Freshman Jon Richards chipped in with two assists on Saturday, helping RPI to a 2-1 lead after two periods, but the Dutchmen scored three in the third, including an empty-netter for the comeback win.

ALL-TIME VS. CLARKSON
The Golden Knights own a 92-51-11 lead in the all-time series with RPI – the most victories any team has over the Engineers ... Rensselaer won the inaugural meeting, however, 14-1, in Troy on January 24, 1925.

RECENTLY
Clarkson is 6-3-1 over the last 10 meetings, which includes two ECAC Hockey playoff series victories ... In conference play, the Golden Knights are 4-3-3 over the last 10, including a 2-2-1 mark in Potsdam.

2016-17 VS. THE SAINTS
St. Lawrence won both of last year's meetings, 3-1 and 2-1 ... Kyle Hayton made 27 saves and the Saints scored the first three goals on November 12, 2016, in Troy for a road win ... Carson Gicewicz netted the eventual game-winning goal at 17:04 of the third period on January 27, 2017 for a 2-1 home win for St. Lawrence.

INDIVIDUALLY VS. SLU
Patrick Polino (1 goal) and Will Reilly (1 assist) are the only returning skaters with points against the Saints last season, while Chase Perry (0-2-0) played in both games between the pipes ... He had a 2.95 goals against average and a .902 save percentage in 81:16 minutes.

Three players are tied for the team lead with five points through six games ... Junior Evan Tironese (3 goals, 2 assists) is joined by sophomore Jacob Hayhurst and Todd Burgess (5 assists) atop the team's leaderboard ... ENGINEERS GOALTENDING
Junior netminder Chase Perry has started five games for the Engineers this season, going 0-3-2 with a 2.50 goals against average and a .925 save percentage ... FIRST GOALS

Twenty of the top Division I NCAA men's hockey student-athletes have been named as candidates for the 2017-18 Senior CLASS Award and RPI senior defenseman Jared Wilson has been selected ... A captain from Calgary, Alb., Wilson is a business and management major with a 3.79 cumulative grade point average ... Compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall semester of 2016, he is a multiple Dean's List selection and has earned ECAC Hockey All-Academic all three years eligible to date ... The Engineers are third in the nation in shooting percentage at 13.8%, trailing only Harvard (16.1%) and Cornell (15.1%), who have each played a combined three games.

Sophomore Jacob Hayhurst ranks fourth in the conference in plus/minus with a +5 rating ... The Engineers have four freshmen in the top eight in rookie scoring, including Troy York (2 goals, 2 assists) ...
