GAMEDAY (Dec. 2, 2017): After playing their first four games on the road, the Engineers (4-1; 1-0) are back home for the second straight day with a Liberty League contest against St. Lawrence (1-4; 0-1).

THREE STRAIGHT: Rensselaer plays its third straight home game on Tuesday when it welcomes MCLA for a non-league affair beginning at 7pm.

LAST NIGHT: Junior Tom Horvat scored 25 points and three others reached double digits as RPI posted a 77-66 victory over Clarkson ... The Engineers shot 52.6% from the field ... Horvat made 10 of 18 shots from the field, including 3 of 6 three-pointers, while collecting four rebounds, three assists and six steals in 37 minutes ... Bard Featherston added 13 points on 4 of 7 shooting with 3 of 6 three-pointers; Asa Barnhill had 12 points on 5 of 7 from the field; and freshman Patrick Mahoney scored 11 points, making 5 of 8 shots ... Featherston chipped in four assists, Barnhill had four rebounds and Mahoney pulled down five boards ... Clarkson also had four players reach double-figures, led by Malaquias Canery, who scored 20 points with three assists and two steals.

LAST SEASON: Rensselaer lost both games to St. Lawrence a season ago, dropping a 76-63 decision at home before losing 88-81 in Canton a month later. 

DECEMBER 31, 2016: St. Lawrence used a 16-1 run midway through the second half to turn a tie game into a 15-point lead and the Saints defeated Rensselaer, 76-63 ... Five players reached double digits in points for SLU ... Kyle Kobis led the attack for St. Lawrence, which made 30 of 61 shots (49.2%) and held a 40-26 advantage in rebounds ... He had 14 points with a team-high seven rebounds and three assists ... Riley Naclerio added 12 points with five rebounds ... Jonathan Luster led Rensselaer with 13 points, along with three assists ... Tom Horvat scored 12 points with four rebounds and two assists ... Marcus Giese had 10 points, five rebounds and a steal ... The Engineers shot 44.3% (27 of 61) from the field, including 16 of 31 (51.6%) in the second half.

JANUARY 27, 2017: Despite putting three players in double figures, the Engineers lost at St. Lawrence, 88-81 ... Tom Horvat had 22 points to lead the Engineers, who also got 17 points from Andreas Kontopidis and 16 from Jonathan Luster ... Horvat added four rebounds, three assists and four steals ... Kontopidis chipped in three rebounds and two assists ... Luster had five rebounds, three assists and two steals ... The Saints were led by Kyle Edwards, who tallied 24 points ... Kyle Kobis and Riley Naclerio both added 15 points ... Naclerio also snagged nine rebounds. 

ST. LAWRENCE TO DATE: The Saints began the season with losses to Bowdoin (80-74) and Lehman (90-86) before defeating SUNY Canton, 89-78, on November 21 ... They have since fallen to Plattsburgh (95-79) and Skidmore (81-56).
