GAMEDAY (April 12, 2017): The Engineers (7-3) welcome Babson College (4-5) to East Campus Stadium for a non-league contest (6pm).

FIRST EVER: Rensselaer has never played Babson in men's lacrosse prior to this year.

COMMON OPPONENTS: RPI and Babson have one common opponent in Union ... The Engineers defeated the Dutchmen 12-6 on Saturday, while the Beavers lost 13-12 in overtime on March 5 in Schenectady.

BREAKDOWNS: RPI is 4-0 at home this season ... The Engineers are 5-1 in non-league games.

OF LATE: Rensselaer has won each of its last two games and are 6-1 in its last seven.

ON AVERAGE: RPI averages 12.8 goals and 39.3 shots per game ... The opposition averages 8.6 and 36.1 ... Of the Engineers' 128 goals, 93 have been assisted ... Opponents have earned assists on 42 of their 86 goals.

LAST TIME OUT: Junior attack Zach Lukas scored four times, including twice in the fourth quarter when RPI notched five goals, to lead the Engineers to a 12-6 win over Union on Saturday ... With Rensselaer leading 7-5 after three quarters, JT Kelly made it a three-goal lead ... RPI made it a five-goal lead, 10-5, before the Dutchmen scored again, but Matthew Gilman and Lukas closed out the scoring ... In addition to his four goals, Lukas also had a team-high eight shots with six on goal, along with two ground balls ... Owen Putman (2 goals), Gilman (2 goals) and Kelly (1 goal, 1 assist) each had two points, while David Gibbs had four ground balls, along with nine saves.

HONORED: Rensselaer junior attack Zach Lukas was selected as the Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week ... An industrial and management engineering major, he had seven goals and three assists for 10 points in victories over Oneonta and Union ... He also took 12 shots with two ground balls ... In a 19-7 road win over the Red Dragons, he scored three times with three assists and four shots ... On Saturday in a 12-6 win over the Dutchmen, Lukas scored four times with eight shots and two ground balls.

BREAKDOWNS: Babson is 0-3 on the road this season ... The Beavers are 4-3 in non-league games.

OF LATE: Babson has lost each of its last two games and are 3-3 in its last six contests.

LAST TIME OUT: Jack Kelly scored four times and Graham Davis added three goals and three assists as MIT rallied from a three-goal halftime deficit to defeat Babson, 13-10 ... The Beavers had won nine straight against MIT ... Samuel Mishkind and Owen Allen both scored twice, while Brendan Duffy added a goal and two assists for the Beavers ... Kevin Klempner won 15-of-26 face-offs and led all players with nine ground balls, Jack O'Donoghue chipped in with eight ground balls and five caused turnovers and Zach Cattaruzza added four ground balls ... Christopher Aranalde recorded 15 saves for Babson, which held a 47-43 edge in shots.
