GAMEDAY (Jan. 13, 2018): The Engineers (7-6; 2-4 Liberty League) play for the third time in five days as they host Bard (4-8; 2-3 Liberty League).

LAST NIGHT IN TROY: Freshman Lance Tebay made a three-pointer with just under two seconds remaining to lift Vassar to a 69-66 victory over Rensselaer ... Andreas Kontopidis had a game-high 22 points with nine rebounds, an assist, two blocks and two steals in the loss.

LAST NIGHT IN GENEVA: Bard lost to Hobart, 97-58 ... The Statesmen were hot right from the start, shooting 56 percent from the field in the first half, and holding Bard to eight points in the first 10 minutes ... Emmanuel Oyakhilome had 12 points and five rebounds for Bard.

LAST SEASON: RPI defeated Bard by scores of 56-48 (away) and 59-57 (home) during the 2016-17 campaign.

JANUARY 31, 2017: Rensselaer built a 22-point lead on the strength of an incredible defensive first half, then hung on down the stretch to defeat Bard, 56-48 ... RPI scored the first nine points of the game and held Bard without a field goal for the first nine-plus minutes of the contest ... The Engineers then scored the first eight points of the second half before the Raptors went on a 20-5 run ... Andreas Kontopidis led RPI with 14 points and nine rebounds, Brian Hatcher added 14 points and eight rebounds and Jonathan Luster finished with 11 points and five assists ... Bard got 14 points from Chris Lockwood and 11 from Harry Johnson.

FEBRUARY 19, 2017: Senior Brian Hatcher made a turnaround jump shot from just above the foul line with no time remaining and Rensselaer ended the regular season with a 59-57 victory over Bard on Senior Day ... With the game tied, the Raptors had a chance to take the lead in the waning seconds but Emmanuel Oyakhilome's attempt around the rim with the shot clock winding down was no good and rebounded by RPI senior Jonathan Luster ... The Engineers called timeout with 1.2 seconds remaining and Bard did the same ... Nate Kane, Rensselaer's third senior, in-bounded the ball from the defensive side of mid-court, throwing a pass to Hatcher, who ran from the baseline to the foul line ... He caught the ball with his back to the basket, turned to his right and got off a contested jumper that fell through as time expired ... It was the first basket of the game for Hatcher and Kane's lone assist.

POINT PRODUCERS: Rensselaer's Andreas Kontopidis led all scorers with 21 points, including 14 in the first half, along with 12 rebounds, in last year's home victory over Bard (59-57) ... Tom Horvat finished with 14 points, three rebounds, two assists, a block and three steals off the bench, while Brian Hatcher scored six points with six rebounds, three assists and two steals ... Armando Dunn had 16 points and six rebounds for Bard ... Chris Lockwood and David Runcie had 10 points apiece with Lockwood pulling down eight rebounds.
