GAMEDAY (Jan. 27, 2018): The Engineers (9-8; 4-6 Liberty League) look to start a winning streak when they host conference foe Skidmore (9-7; 5-5).

STANDINGS: With its four league wins, Rensselaer sits in a three-way tie for sixth place in the Liberty League, one win behind fifth-place Skidmore and two from third place ... Hobart, which is where the Engineers play on Tuesday, is in first place with nine wins ... The top six schools qualify for the post-season.

LAST NIGHT: Three Engineers hit double-digit points as Rensselaer upended RIT, 67-49 ... Junior guard Tom Horvat scored a game-high 17 points with two steals, while classmates Andreas Kontopidis and Marcus Giese finished with 12 points apiece ... Giese added six boards, while Kontopidis had a game-high five assists ... RIT was led by Troy Pierre-Louis, with 14 points, and Robert Aguilera, who finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.

10 FROM 1000: Rensselaer junior guard Tom Horvat scored 17 points last night and now has 990 in his career ... Should he reach the milestone, he will be the 14th member of RPI's 1,000-point club.

ALL-TIME LEADING SCORERS: Rensselaer's all-time leading scorer is Tom Ronan '92, who has 1,724 career points ... Alex Dowlin '00 is second with 1,412 and Sam Simmons '09 is third with 1,403.

CLIMBING THE LIST: Tom Horvat is 17 points from becoming the 12th-most prolific scorer in school history ... Tom Neufer '72 and Tom Juknis '74 both scored 1,006 points in their careers.

SKIDMORE LAST NIGHT: A late Union run was too much for Skidmore and they were defeated 78-67 in Schenectady ... Chase Ta led the Thoroughbreds with a season-high 19 points, adding six assists and three steals ... Edvinas Rupkus tallied 13 second half points to finish with 15, along with four rebounds and three steals ... Dakpe Yiljep added 14 points and seven rebounds for Skidmore, which shot 36.4 percent from the field ... Union's Kevin Weckworth led all scorers with 25 points.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Thoroughbreds are playing their seventh consecutive road game - all Liberty League contests ... They then have five straight games at home.

FIRST MEETING: RPI and Skidmore faced one another on January 5 and the Thoroughbreds prevailed, 76-56, in Saratoga.

The Thoroughbreds pulled away for good thanks to a 12-minute, 30-9 run to begin the second half ... Edvinas Rupkus tallied a game-high 30 points with eight rebounds and four assists ... Dakpe Yiljep added 20 points, five rebounds and four blocked shots ... Andreas Kontopidis led the way for RPI with 17 points ... Marcus Giese had 11 points with seven rebounds and five assists ... Tom Horvat scored 10 points.
