GENEVA, N.Y. - William Smith College put four student-athletes in double-digits in points and the Herons defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), 69-53, in a Liberty League contest at Bristol Gym. William Smith led by eight points after three quarters and doubled the advantage by the end of the contest to improve to 11-8 overall and 5-7 in the conference. RPI falls to 10-9 and 6-6, maintaining the sixth and final playoff spot.
Mia Morrison led the Herons with 19 points, along with seven rebounds, while Adrianne Torea scored 13 points. Juliana Gamboa added 11 with nine rebounds and Kendra Quinn-Moultre scored 10 for William Smith, which made 43.1% of its shots (25 of 58) with 18 assists. 
Ten different players scored for the Engineers, led by junior guard Sam Krumbhaar's 10 points. Sam O'Keefe notched nine, while LaKissa Martin and Ines Ortea had eight apiece. Rensselaer was successful on 34.4% (22 of 64) of its attempts and managed just one three-point basket.
RPI returns home on Friday to face Union College at 6pm at East Campus Arena.
