GAMEDAY (Jan. 9, 2018): The Engineers (7-4; 2-2) return to East Campus Arena for the first time since December 5 when they host Hobart (8-3; 3-1) in a Liberty League contest ... The game is the third in a five-day stretch for both teams.

LAST WEEKEND: Rensselaer played its first two conference road contests last weekend and lost at first place Skidmore (76-56) and RIT in overtime (78-73) ... Reaching double figures for the Engineers on Friday were Andreas Kontopidis (17 points), Marcus Giese (11) and Tom Horvat (10) ... Edvinas Rupkus scored 30 for Skidmore ... On Saturday, Kontopidis had 23 points and Horvat notched 21 with 16 in the second half.

HOBART LAST WEEKEND: The Statesmen enter the game off of a pair of road victories ... They defeated RIT on Friday (75-64) and Ithaca on Saturday (91-81) ... Four players reached double digits against the TIgers, led by Jamal Lucas (17 points), while five had 10-or-more points against the Bombers on Saturday ... Tucker Lescoe scored 25 and Colin Dougherty tallied 20.

ALL-TIME AGAINST HOBART: The Engineers and Statesmen have played 114 times with RPI leading the all-time series, 67-47 ... Hobart has won the last three meetings and 11 of the last 12 against Rensselaer.

ALL-TIME AT HOME: In 56 contests in Troy, the Engineers are 39-17 against Hobart, including 4-6 in the last 10 ... The Statesmen won last year's game at East Campus Arena, 77-60.

IN CONFERENCE: The Engineers have a 22-20 edge in league games with the Statesmen.

LAST SEASON: Rensselaer dropped a 67-52 game last January in Geneva before falling 77-60 in Troy.

JANUARY 13, 2017: Hobart used a stout defense and a balanced offense to defeat Rensselaer, 67-52 ... Colin Dougherty paced Hobart with 16 points on 8 of 14 shooting, while Jamal Lucas added 10 points and three steals ... Matt Walsh chipped in seven points and a game-high nine rebounds ... RPI got a game-high 17 points from Tom Horvat and Andreas Kontopidis scored 12 points. 

FEBRUARY 11, 2017: Tucker Lescoe scored 30 points on 11 of 16 shooting, including 7 of 12 from three-point range, and Hobart defeated Rensselaer, 77-60 ... As a team, the Statesmen shot better than 58 percent with 11 three-pointers ... Lescoe added three rebounds, three assists and a steal ... Sam Allen, a forward, finished with 15 points with seven rebounds ... The Engineers, who were within single digits with just over eight minutes left in the second half, were led by Jonathan Luster, who scored 18 points with three rebounds and an assist ... Tom Horvat added 13 points with two rebounds, two assists and three steals.
