GAMEDAY (Jan. 9, 2018): The Engineers (6-5; 2-2) return to East Campus Arena for the first time since December 2 when they host William Smith (6-5; 0-4) in a Liberty League contest ... The game is the third in a five-day stretch for both teams.

LAST WEEKEND: Rensselaer played its first two conference road contests and lost to a pair of first place teams: Skidmore on Friday (64-48) and RIT on Saturday (57-49) ... LaKissa Martin had 14 points against the Thoroughbreds and then added 11 the next afternoon in Rochester ... The junior forward led the team in points in both games ... Elizabeth Eckhardt reached double digits in points (10), while Shaina Iton had double digits in rebounds with 10 against RIT ... She also scored nine points.

WILLIAM SMITH LAST WEEKEND: The Herons lost a pair of road games to first place teams ... They had a three-game winning streak snapped on Friday at RIT (83-75) before losing at Ithaca on Saturday (72-52) ... Mia Morrison had 22 points and 14 points against the Tigers ... She then had 14 points and eight caroms against the Bombers ... Kendra Quinn-Moultre also had 14 points at Ithaca.

ALL-TIME AGAINST WILLIAM SMITH: The Engineers and Herons have played 63 times with RPI trailing the all-time series, 22-41 ... Rensselaer snapped a three-game losing streak last time out and is now 3-3 in its last three with William Smith.

ALL-TIME AT HOME: In 29 contests in Troy, the Engineers are 14-15 against William Smith, including 5-5 in the last 10 ... Rensselaer won last year's game at East Campus Arena, 66-52.

IN CONFERENCE: The Herons have a 37-21 edge in league games with the Engineers ... This is the 30th year the two schools have shared a conference.

LAST SEASON: Rensselaer dropped a 72-58 game last January in Geneva before bouncing back with a 66-52 win in Troy.

JANUARY 13, 2017: Shaina Iton had 23 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks, but it was not enough as RPI lost at William Smith, 72-58 ... Rensselaer held a 15-12 lead after the first quarter but the Herons gained the lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Engineers by 13 points for a 10-point lead (35-25) at halftime ... The Engineers battled to tie the score at 56-56 in the fourth, but a 12-0 spurt by the home team between the 3:41 and 1:01 marks put William Smith ahead 68-56 ... The margin settled on 14 points thanks to the Herons making free throws ... William Smith had three in double figures in scoring, led by Melanie Patterson's 17 points. 

FEBRUARY 11, 2017: Guards Sam Krumbhaar and Elizabeth Eckhardt both scored 22 points and RPI outscored William Smith 20-8 in the fourth quarter on its way to a 66-52 victory ... The Engineers scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter - five from Eckhardt and three from Krumbhaar for a 10-point edge ... Mia Morrison had 22 points, five rebounds, an assist and two steals on the other end.
