TROY, N.Y. - The Hobart College men's basketball team made 51.1% of its shots and three players reached double digits as the Statesmen posted a 69-57 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in a Liberty League contest at East Campus Arena. Hobart, which was successful on 24 of 47 field goal attempts, improves to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the league. The Engineers drop to 7-5 and 2-3.

The Statesmen held a four-point lead at halftime, 36-32, but quickly built it to 10 by scoring the first six points of the second half, four of which came from Colin Dougherty. Rensselaer scored the next five points and 13 of 19 to get within two, 48-46, with 11 minutes remaining, but an 8-0 run by Hobart, highlighted by consecutive three-point baskets by Tucker Lescoe, made it a 10-point margin (56-46) with just under nine minutes remaining. The teams traded baskets the rest of the way with the Engineers getting to within seven points (64-57), but Hobart scored the final five in the victory.

Jamal Lucas and Dan Masino both had 13 points in the win and Dougherty finished with 10, along with six rebounds. Lucas added five boards and six steals.
