TROY, N.Y. - There will be many ways to follow the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey team for the 2018-19 season, including watching and listening to live home games on RPI TV and 91.5 FM, WRPI, respectively. In addition, head coach Dave Smith will be joining Rodger Wyland on ESPN Radio for a weekly radio show.

RPI TV is a student-run organization that operates out of the Rensselaer Union. The club has been broadcasting home hockey and football games for 15 years, providing one of the highest quality online video streams in Division I college hockey, which is available anywhere in the world. Currently streaming on YouTube, RPI TV continues to improve its broadcast quality every year, with the addition of new cameras and upgrades to its already cutting edge technology. On campus, fans can tune in to RPI TV on the internal cable network or watch online at www.rpitv.org.

WRPI, the campus' full-fledged community radio station will continue its coverage of home and away men's hockey games. These broadcasts will once again be simulcast on RPI TV. Located in the basement of the Darrin Communications Center, WRPI can be heard locally on 91.5 FM, within a 70-mile radius of its transmission tower, or online at www.wrpi.org.

The station has broadcast sports since it became an FM station on November 1, 1957. That day a tape of a football game was broadcast as part of a 'mosaic' of sound that demonstrated the broad potential of the new FM station. Sports broadcasts of RPI Athletics owe their birth to the updates provided on WHAZ, RPI's original AM station, in the 1920's.

ECAC Hockey road games can now be seen on ESPN+, a premium direct-to-consumer video service, which is available only in the United States. Fans can subscribe to ESPN+ for just $4.99 a month (or $49.99 per year) and cancel at any time.

Smith will join Rodger Wyland every Tuesday morning at 11:15am, beginning on October 2. Tune in locally at 104.5 FM, ESPN or stream online at http://1045theteam.com.

Wyland is the Sports Director at WNYT NewsChannel 13 and also hosts Big Board Radio Sports Talk weekdays from 10am to Noon on 104.5 The Team. He is also the play-by-play announcer for UAlbany football and basketball.

The Engineers get their season underway on Sunday with an exhibition game against the University of Prince Edward Island at the Houston Field House (5pm).
