Men's Soccer Hosts Clarkson on Senior Day

Engineers wrap up regular season against Golden Knights at ECAV Stadium (2pm)

LIBERTY LEAGUE FINALE
The Engineers host Clarkson in the final regular season conference game for both teams, Saturday at East Campus Stadium.

FIGHT FOR .500
Rensselaer looks to finish with at least a .500 record or better for the 12th straight year and can secure the feat with a victory over Clarkson.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Rensselaer owns a 28-22-4 record in the all-time series, including a 17-8-1 mark at home. The Engineers are 10-2-0 over the last 12 meetings, but the Golden Knights were able to pull off a 2-1 win last year in Potsdam.

ENGINEERS BLANK VASSAR
Senior captain Danny Corridan netted the eventual winner in the 75th minute and sophomore Tommaso Valagussa added an insurance marker in the 85th as the Engineers won at Vasar, 2-0, on Wednesday. Freshman goalkeeper Luke Brezak earned his third shutout, saving two, including an 80th minute penalty kick.

HOME SWEET HOME
The Engineers are 15-4-4 at home dating back to the start of the 2016 season. RPI is 5-16-2 on the road over that same stretch.

SHUTOUT STREAK
Rensselaer is riding a 378:23 minute shutout streak, going to back a 2-1 defeat at RIT on October 12. It is the longest such streak since a 591:18 stretch in 2016.

RPI LEADERS
Freshman Billy Chissoe (5 goals, 1 assist) as a team-high 11 points, while junior Austin Betterly (4 goals, 2 assists) and sophomore Michael Harten (2 goals, 4 assists) have 10 and eight points, respectively.

GOALKEEPING
Junior Matt LaBranche is 5-4-1 with a 1.29 goals against average and a .659 save percentage, with one combined shutout. Freshman Luke Brezak (3-1-0) has a 0.72 goals against average and a .826 save percentage in seven games (5 starts), with three shutouts.

BETTERLY AND BISSON RECOGNIZED
Junior Austin Betterly and sophomore Trevor Bisson earned Offensive and Defensive Performer of the Week, respectively, last week as the Engineers went 2-0 with wins over Hartwick and No. 25 Ithaca.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Clarkson is paced by Henry Gomez (6 goals, 1 assist) with 13 points. Drew Lewis (4 goals, 1 assist) and Aidan Subra (2 goals, 5 assists) have nine points apiece. In goal, Riley McDonald (7-3-0) has a 0.40 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.
