GAMEDAY (April 11, 2018): The Engineers (8-2; 3-1 Liberty League) play their third straight home game when conference foe Vassar (2-8; 1-3 Liberty League) visits Troy for a mid-week contest.

NATIONALLY-RANKED: For the second consecutive week, the Engineers are ranked in the USILA Division III Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 20 ... RPI is one of four Liberty League schools listed.

NEW STREAK SOUGHT: Rensselaer had an eight-game winning streak snapped on Saturday against No. 1 RIT, losing 18-11.

VS. RIT: Junior Shawn Nally had three goals and four assists and five teammates also registered multiple goals as top-ranked RIT held off No. 20 Rensselaer, 18-11 ... Senior Zach Lukas had three goals and an assist to lead the Engineers, who saw Parker Smith make 14 saves with five ground balls ... Lucas Bastarache scored twice with five ground balls ... Freshman Ryan Cole had two goals and an assist, Cliff Kigar had a goal and two assists and JT Kelly scored once and set up another.

TEAM STATS: RIT held a slight edge in shots, 46-40, while picking up 20 more ground balls (60-40) in Saturday's victory over the Engineers ... The Tigers were 3 of 3 on man-up opportunities, while Rensselaer was 2 of 6.

LAST TUESDAY: RPI scored the first seven goals of the game and went on to defeat Oneonta, 18-6 ... Junior JT Kelly had a goal and three assists after the first 15 minutes and finished with two goals and five helpers ... Zach Lukas registered three goals and two assists with two ground balls, while Cliff Kigar scored three times ... Freshman Ryan Cole also finished with a hat trick and Jordan Gans scored twice.

TEAM STATS: RPI registered 12 assists on its 18 goals against Oneonta ... The Engineers won 23 of 28 faceoffs, including 13 of 16 from Kevin Frega and 7 of 8 from Tyler Hancock, who had a game-high eight ground balls ... Rensselaer held a 48-18 advantage in shots and 57-27 bulge in ground ball pickups.

RECOGNIZED: Senior Zach Lukas earned Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll recognition after he totaled a team-best nine points on six goals and three assists as the Engineers went 1-1 ... He also had 12 shots and six ground balls with three turnovers ... Lukas notched three goals, two assists, five shots and two ground balls in an 18-6 win over Oneonta ... He later scored three times with an assist, seven shots and four ground balls in an 18-11 loss to No. 1 RIT. 

SINGLE DIGITS: RPI has held seven of its 10 opponents to fewer than 10 goals ... The Engineers are 7-0 in those games. 

ALL-TIME VS. VASSAR: RPI won the first 18 meetings with Vassar before the Brewers earned their first victory, 11-9 last season in Poughkeepsie ... Nine contests have been played in Troy ... Each of the last 17 games have been conference matchups. 

LAST SEASON: The Brewers outscored RPI 6-2 in the fourth quarter and the Brewers defeated the No. 19 Engineers, 11-9 ... Goalkeeper Matt Boyd matched his career-best with 16 saves for the win, while David Gibbs took the loss with 12 stops ... The Brewers and Engineers put up 36 shots apiece ... Breanainn McNeally and Zach Lukas both registered four points on three scores and an assist for RPI, while Lucas Bastarache (1g, 1a) and JT Kelly (2a) added two points ... Michael Mullen had a hat trick, Brandon DeStasio netted two goals with an assist, and Liam Moriarty scored one goal with two helpers for Vassar.

VASSAR TO DATE: The Brewers opened the season with a 12-7 win over Drew, but then lost seven straight before defeating Bard, 17-4, last Wednesday ... Vassar lost to Stockton, 9-8, on Saturday ... Four of the Brewers opponents were nationally-ranked at the time of the games.
