GAMEDAY (April 3, 2018): The Engineers (7-1; 3-0 Liberty League) return home after playing two road games last week ... They host Oneonta (4-4; 1-0 SUNYAC) in a non-league game at East Campus Stadium beginning at 4pm.

ROLLING: Rensselaer dropped its first contest of the season, but has since won each of its last seven games, including five away from ECAV Stadium.

NATIONALLY-RANKED: For the first time this season, RPI is ranked in the USILA Division III Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 20 ... The Engineers received 37 points, which is 10 behind No. 19 St. Lawrence.

TEAM STATS: Rensselaer averages 14.13 points and 45.9 shots per game, while allowing 7.38 and 31.8, respectively ... The Engineers have outscored the opposition in every quarter, including a margin of 20 goals in the first (32-12), 12 in the second (27-15), 21 in the third (29-8) and one in the fourth (25-24).

DEFENSE: After surrendering 18 goals in their first game (at Keene State), the Engineers held their next four opponents to a total of 17 goals.

INDIVIDUALLY: RPI has seven student-athletes who have registered at least 10 points, led by senior Cliff Kigar's 30 (21 goals, 9 assists) ... Junior JT Kelly has 27 points (8-19) and senior Zach Lukas has 23 (14-9) ... Four of Kigar's goals and three of Lukas's have come on the man-up.

BALL CONTROL: Senior Oliver Kaija has won 50 of 87 faceoffs (.575) and leads the team with 27 ground balls ... Eleven others have at least 10 ground balls with freshman Kyle Pelcher leading the defensemen with 19.

IN GOAL: Senior Parker Smith has played the bulk of the minutes in the cage, posting a 6-1 record with a 6.42 goals against average and a .606 save percentage in 345:49 ... Freshman Brian Doughty, who picked up the win at Plattsburgh on Wednesday, has a 9.73 average and a .528 percentage.

LAST TIME OUT: JT Kelly, Zach Lukas and Cliff Kigar combined for 16 points and Parker Smith made 15 saves to lead Rensselaer to a 15-11 victory over Skidmore on Saturday ... Kelly, a junior, notched a game-high six points on two goals and four assists, while Lukas and Kigar, both seniors, tallied three goals with two helpers apiece ... Smith made six saves in the first quarter, three in the second, four in the third and two in the fourth while playing all 60 minutes.

TOUGH LEAGUE: The Liberty League has four teams in this week's national poll, including No. 1 RIT - which comes to ECAV Stadium on Saturday ... Ithaca, which Rensselaer defeated on March 24 (16-7), is No. 18 and St. Lawrence is No. 19 ... No. 20 RPI hosts the Saints in the regular season finale on March 25.

ALL-TIME VS. ONEONTA: The Engineers are  18-7 all-time against the Red Dragons, including victories in the last five meetings and seven of the last eight ... Rensselaer is 11-1 all-time in Troy against Oneonta. 

LAST SEASON: RPI defeated Oneonta 19-7 in a non-conference contest in early April ... The Engineers outscored the Red Dragons 10-2 in the middle two quarters to take control of the game ... JT Kelly had seven points on three goals and four assists, while Zach Lukas netted three of his own and added three assists for Rensselaer ... Ten others notched at least one point for the Engineers ... Stephen Panno  led the Red Dragons with three goals and one assist ... Andrew Helfman stopped 14 shots in the loss, while three goalies combined to make nine saves for the Engineers.

COMMON OPPONENT: Rensselaer and Oneonta have one common opponent in Ithaca ... The Engineers defeated the then-No. 13 Bombers, 16-7, on March 24 ... Oneonta lost to Ithaca, 13-5, on March 21.
 
RPI'S CAPTAINS: The 2018 Engineers are being led by senior captains Matthew Gilman, Oliver Kaija and Zach Lukas ... This is the first season as a captain for Gilman and Lukas and the second for Kaija.

ROSTER BREAKDOWN: Rensselaer's roster features eight seniors, 14 juniors, seven sophomores and 15 freshmen.
