CANTON, N.Y. - Juniors
Michelle Bolger and
Maddy Aslansan each recorded three goals to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team to a 12-8 victory over St. Lawrence University on Saturday at North Country Field at Hall-Leet Stadium.

Maddy Aslansan recorded hat tricks for the Engineers in the win, as Aslansan opened the scoring for RPI at 23:02 of the first half to put the visitors in front 1-0.
Minutes later, Schmalz and Slade scored back-to-back goals for the Saints in a span of 39 seconds to take a 2-1 lead. The goal for Slade was her first of the season.
She scored her second of the season and the game at 12:40, exactly one minute after RPI had tied the game, to give St. Lawrence a 3-2 lead. Campbell Armstrong gave the Saints' a two-goal margin at 4:58, but RPI scored two straight near the end of the half to tie the game at 4-4 heading into the break.
RPI took its first lead since the game's opening goal at 28:49 of the second half with another from Aslansan, and went on to score three in a row to take a 7-4 lead.
St. Lawrence pulled within two three times during the second half, but could not fully close the gap against the Engineers.
Barlow made it 7-5 in favor of the visitors at 17:51 and, after RPI answered with a goal by
Morgan Doyle, Massey cut the deficit to 8-6 with her 12th of the season at 15:08.
Norris and Schmalz rounded out the scoring for the Saints at 9:07 and 7:02, respectively, before Bolger gave the Engineers a pair of insurance goals in the final minutes to push to the 12-8 margin.
The Saints finished with a 27-26 edge in total shots, while RPI had a 19-18 advantage in shots on goal.
Olga Lukas made seven saves for St. Lawrence in the loss and
Aleena Milinski finished with 10 saves in the win for RPI.
Rensselaer is back in action on Tuesday, when it hosts a Liberty League Tournament quarterfinal against either Clarkson or RIT (TBA).
