GAMEDAY (April 7, 2018): The Engineers (8-1; 3-0 Liberty League) play their first final Saturday home game of the regular season, welcoming No. 1 RIT (11-0; 3-0 Liberty League) to East Campus Stadium for a 1pm contest.
SENIOR DAY: Following the game, a ceremony will be held to recognize Rensselaer's senior student-athletes and their families ... The Class of 2018 includes

TOP TEAMS: The Engineers and Tigers are the last two teams in the conference to be undefeated in league play ... They are both 3-0 with the winner controlling its own destiny to the conference post-season tournament, which begins on April 28 and continues on May 2 ... The final is May 5.
NATIONALLY-RANKED: Saturday's game marks the second nationally-ranked opponent the Engineers have played ... RPI defeated then-No. 13 Ithaca, 16-7, at home on March 24.
ROLLING: Rensselaer dropped its first contest of the season, but has since won each of its last eight games, including three at ECAV Stadium.
DEFENSE: After surrendering 18 goals in their first game (at Keene State), the Engineers held their next four opponents to a total of 17 goals ... On the season, Rensselaer has outscored the opposition 131-65.Â
LAST TIME OUT: On Tuesday, Rensselaer scored the first seven goals of the game and went on to defeat Oneonta, 18-6 ... Junior
JT Kelly had a goal and three assists after the first 15 minutes and finished with two goals and five helpers ...
Zach Lukas registered three goals and two assists with two ground balls, while
Cliff Kigar scored three times ... Freshman

TEAM STATS: RPI registered 12 assists on its 18 goals against Oneonta ... The Engineers won 23 of 28 faceoffs, including 13 of 16 from

Tyler Hancock, who had a game-high eight ground balls ... Rensselaer held a 48-18 advantage in shots and 57-27 bulge in ground ball pickups.
RECOGNIZED:
Brian Doughty was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week after backstopping the Engineers to an 11-6 victory at Plattsburgh State last Wednesday ... He registered eight saves on 14 shots with two ground balls in his first career start ... He earned the win, also the first of his career, after making two saves on two shots on goal in the first quarter, three of seven in the second, two of three in the third and one of two in the fourth.
ALL-TIME VS. RIT: The Engineers are 6-27 all-time against the Tigers, going 3-13 both home and away with a neutral site loss.Â
APRIL 7, 2012: RPI last defeated RIT six seasons ago in Troy, 10-7, behind Brett Overend's five goals and Alex Castronovo's 10 saves ... Three of Overend's goals came on man-up situations as Rensselaer converted 4 of 9 opportunities ... Anthony DeLeo stopped seven shots for the visitors.
LAST SEASON: RIT opened Liberty League play with a 14-9 win over Rensselaer at the Carrier Dome ...
JT Kelly led the Engineers with four goals, while
Cliff Kigar tallied three and an assist ... David Gibbs made 21 saves in the cage ... Kyle Killen, Cam Isaac and Ben Tackett each scored a pair of goals for the Tigers.
RIT TO DATE: The Tigers, who fell to No. 1 Salisbury in the 2016 NCAA Championship Game (15-7), have played four nationally-ranked opponents in their first 11 games this year: No. 11 Bates (9-7 on Feb. 24), No. 19 Lynchburg (13-11 on Mar. 16), No. 10 Amherst (21-16 on Mar. 17) and No. 15 Cortland (17-8 on Wed.).
RPI'S CAPTAINS: The 2018 Engineers are being led by senior captains
Matthew Gilman,
Oliver Kaija and
Zach Lukas ... This is the first season as a captain for Gilman and Lukas and the second for Kaija.
