GAMEDAY (March 27, 2019): The Engineers face Bard in their first Liberty League home game of the 2019 campaign on Wednesday night at East Campus Stadium (7pm).

ALL-TIME VS. BARD: The Engineers are 5-0 all-time against the Raptors with each meeting coming since Bard joined the conference.

LAST SEASON: Parker Smith made five saves on 10 shots and the Engineers defeated Bard 14-5 ... Offensively, four players had multiple points for RPI, led by Connor Schnapp's five goals and one assist ... Siyon Lowe (2 goals, 1 assist) and Owen Putman (1 goal, 2 assists) both had three points and Jordan Gans had two goals ... Rensselaer outshot Bard 61-24, including 43-10 on goal, and had a 40-27 margin in ground balls ... Lyle Healey stopped 29 shots for the Raptors, who won 9 of 22 faceoffs.

RPI LAST TIME OUT: Junior Owen Putman scored five goals with an assist and sophomore Brian Doughty made 15 saves to lead the No. 15 Engineers to a 13-11 victory at No. 19 Ithaca on Saturday ... The third quarter saw RPI double-up the Bombers 6-3 for a 13-9 lead ... Tyler Hancock had two goals, an assist and a game-high eight ground balls, along with 17 of 28 face off wins ... JT Kelly finished with three assists ... Dan Lee had four goals and an assist and Ryan Ozsvath scored four times for Ithaca, which got 10 saves from Connor Thornton.

WEEKLY AWARD: For the fourth time in the last five weeks, RPI's Cooper Urban was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week ... The freshman attack had five goals and one assist with 13 shots (8 on goal) and two ground balls in two games, including team-highs in goals (2), points (3), shots (7) and shots on goal (4), along with two ground balls in a 16-7 loss to Williams. 

BARD TO DATE: The Raptors began the season with a 14-5 loss at Mount Saint Mary and then were defeated by Oneonta State 13-3 ... Bard has since won three straight games, including victories over SUNY Canton (9-8 in OT), SUNY Cobleskill (9-7) and Rosemont (16-15) ... Its league opener, which was scheduled for last Saturday at St. Lawrence, was postponed.

BARD LAST TIME OUT: Peter Sojka and Corey Rich finished with six goals apiece, Sojka added two assists and Rich one as Bard defeated Rosemont 16-15 in a back-and-forth affair on March 20 ... Jack Kaplan scored twice, and the Raptors got single goals from two others ... Emanuel Grenier-Benoit led Bard with eight ground balls, while Kaplan, William Baffuto and Logan Leppo collected six ground balls apiece ... Lyle Healey made 13 saves ... Sojka was named to the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll.

ROSTER BREAKDOWNS: RPI has a 51-man roster that features 11 seniors, seven juniors, 15 sophomores and 18 freshmen ... The Raptors have two freshmen, five sophomores, five juniors, a senior and a graduate student on their roster.

LEAGUE ONLY: Both Rensselaer and Bard have only Liberty League contests remaining ... Four of RPI's remaining games are at home, including Wednesday against the Raptors ... Bard has four home games and four away games.

ON SATURDAY: No. 16 RPI hosts Skidmore (1pm) and Bard hosts No. 3 RIT (12pm).

PRESEASON POLL: In a vote by the league's head coaches, RIT received eight first-place votes for 64 points to rank first in the 2019 Liberty League Preseason Poll ... Ithaca was second with 53 points and a first place vote ... Rensselaer and St. Lawrence tied for third with 47 points apiece ... Union rounded out the top five with 38 points while Skidmore (26) narrowly edged out Clarkson (25) for sixth ... The Golden Knights were followed by Vassar (16) and Bard (8) ... The Brewers and Thoroughbreds both have new head coaches.
