POSTSEASON BEGINS
The Engineers will be the 11th seed in this year's ECAC Hockey Tournament, which begins on Friday ... RPI visits sixth seed Yale University for a best-of-three series this weekend, with Game 1 and 2 scheduled for 7pm starts, while Sunday's Game 3 would be at 4pm, if necessary. 

ENGINEERS DROP A PAIR
RPI closed out its regular season with home defeats at the hands of then-No. 16 Harvard, 4-1, and Dartmouth, 5-2, on Senior Night ... The Engineers scored first in each game, including tallies from Chase Zieky and Jake Johnson - the first of his collegiate career against the Big Green ... Harvard saw freshman Casey Dornbach collect a goal and an assist, while Dartmouth was led offensively by Will Graber, who potted a hat trick with one assist ... Freshman goaltender Owen Savory made 29 saves against the Crimson and 20 against Dartmouth, before being lifted over the final 9:25 of the contest.

RPI LEADERS
Junior Jacob Hayhurst (3 goal, 20 assists) has a team-best 23 points through 27 games this season ... Freshman Ottoville Leppanen (3 goals, 15 assists) is second with 18 points, while juniors Will Reilly (5 goals, 12 assists) and Todd Burgess (7 goals, 9 assists) have 17 and 16, respectively ... Junior Chase Zieky (8 goals, 6 assists) and senior Brady Wiffen (8 goals, 5 assists) are tied for the team lead with eight tallies apiece.

IN ECAC HOCKEY PLAY
Junior Jacob Hayhurst (2 goals, 13 assists) has a team-best 15 points in 15 ECAC Hockey games ... Freshman Ottoville Leppanen (3 goals, 9 assists) has 12 points, while senior Brady Wiffen (6 goals, 5 assists) has 11.

BETWEEN THE PIPES
Sophomore Linden Marshall (5-8-0) has a 3.66 goals against average and an .890 save percentage as the starter 13 games this season ... Freshman Owen Savory is 5-13-3 with a 2.41 goals against average and a .928 save percentage, which is good for seventh in the nation.

RECENTLY
Freshman Owen Savory is 4-6-3 in his last 13 starts, sporting a 2.13 goals against average and a .931 save percentage, which is third best in the nation over that stretch.

ENGINEERS IN THE PLAYOFFS
RPI has an 11-20 record in postseason play dating back to 2010 ... The Engineers have won three series in the last seven years, including two at Clarkson ... Their most recent series victory came in 2016, when they swept Brown at home, 3-2 and 4-3 ... RPI is 1-6 in its last seven playoff contests.

ALL-TIME VS. YALE
The Engineers own a 57-50-6 lead in the all-time series with Yale, which dates back to January 22, 1909 – a 3-0 Bulldogs victory in Albany ... Yale won the first four meetings, until RPI was able to come away with a 4-2 decision on December 10, 1953, in New Haven.

RECENTLY
Yale has won 10 of the last 12 meetings going back to February 7, 2014 ... RPI's two victory during that stretch came on November 13, 2015 – a 3-2 overtime win at the Houston Field House and December 1, 2017 – a 2-1 home victory ... Prior to that stretch, the Engineers had won six of the previous eight.

THIS SEASON VS. YALE
The Bulldogs won the season series 2-0, picking up a 4-2 win at home on December 7, before edging the Engineers, 3-2, at the Houston Field House on January 26 – the 42nd Annual Big Red Freakout! Since falling in that contest, RPI is 3-4-3, including wins over Colgate, Princeton and Cornell.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Senior Joe Snively paces Yale offensively with 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 points ... Junior Robbie DeMontis (7 goals, 11 assists) has 18 points, while sophomore Kevin O'Neil (5 goals, 11 assists) has 16 ... Justin Pearson (5 goals, 10 assists) leads all Bulldogs rookies with 15, while classmate Jack St. Ivany (3 goals, 6 assists) and junior Chandler Lindstrand (1 goal, 8 assists) pace the blueliners with nine each.

BETWEEN THE PIPES
Senior Sam Tucker and junior Corbin Kaczperski have split time in goal for the Bulldogs ... Tucker is 6-8-1 with a 2.50 goals against average and a .919 save percentage in 16 games (14 starts), while Kaczperski is 7-5-2 with a 2.58 goals against average and a .904 save percentage in 15 games (14 starts).

VS. YALE IN THE PLAYOFFS
The Engineers are 0-2-1 all-time against the Bulldogs in ECAC Hockey Tournament play ... The two teams first met on March 14, 1987 in the third place game in Boston ... More recently, Yale swept a best-of-three First Round series on March 7 and 8, 2008 – winning twice in overtime, 3-2.

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
RPI's three transfers all made their debuts at the Catamount Cup in late December ... Chase Zieky registered his first collegiate goal against Vermont, while Mike Gornall picked up an assist on the play ... Defenseman Shane Bear registered his first Engineers goal on January 4 at Harvard.

NOMINATED
Jacob Hayhurst has been nominated for the prestigious Hobey Baker Memorial Award, given each year to the top player in college hockey.

TOP FACE-OFF MEN
The Engineers have won 47.6% of their faceoffs this season, led by freshman Ottoville Leppanen at 55.1% ... Junior Jacob Hayhurst (52.1%) is second, while freshman Ture Linden round out the top three at 50.6% ... In ECAC Hockey play, Hayhurst leads the way at 54.6%, while Linden (52.1%) and Leppanen (50.9%) follow.

MISCELLANEOUS LEADERS
Junior Chase Zieky and freshman Jakub Lacka lead the Engineers with three power play goals apiece, while junior Patrick Polino has the club's lone shorthanded tally ... Zieky is scoring on 21.1% of his shots, which is tops on the team ... Freshman Jake Johnson is a team-best +3 on the year.

RECORD WHEN...
RPI is 3-0 when Donovan Ott records a point this season ... The Engineers are 7-6 when Jacob Hayhurst registers an assist and 5-3 when Patrick Polino collects at least one point.

SAVORY RECOGNIZED AGAIN
Freshman goaltender Owen Savory was named ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week after helping the Engineers to a 1-0-2 mark in three games ... He stopped 111 of the 113 shots he faced and registered his first collegiate shutout against then-No. 18 Union at the 2019 Mayor's Cup on January 29.

VS. RANKED TEAMS
The Engineers are 3-9-3 against teams ranked in the USCHO.com Top 20, sweeping then-No. 11 Union on October 26 and 27 ... RPI then dropped league games at then-No. 13 Quinnipiac and then-No. 18 Princeton on November 9 and 10 ... The Engineers were swept by then-No. 8 Notre Dame on November 30 and December 1 ... RPI fell to then-No. 11 Northeastern, 3-2 in overtime, on December 28 at the Catamount Cup ... The Engineers dropped a conference matchup with then-16th-ranked Clarkson on January 12 ... Junior Todd Burgess scored with 51 seconds left in overtime to lift the Engineers to a 3-2 victory at Lynah Rink on February 22 ... RPI netted the opening goal at 5:00 of the first period on a tip-in tally from senior Brady Wiffen, before freshman Nick Bowman doubled the visitors' advantage at 12:20 of the first ... Cornell pulled to within 2-1 just 30 seconds later, before knotting the score at 2-2 early in the third ... Owen Savory made 35 saves to earn the win, while sophomore Matthew Galajda had 13 stops for the Big Red.

COLGATE SLIPS PAST ENGINEERS
Bobby McMann netted the overtime-winner to send the homestanding Raiders past RPI, 2-1, on February 23 at Class of '65 Arena ... Evan Tshumi scored his first goal of the year to open the scoring, before the Engineers drew even at 16:15 of the third on Chase Zieky's seventh of the season ... Owen Savory had 25 saves in defeat, with Mitch Benson turning away 31 at the other end of the ice.
