NATIONALLY-RANKED: RPI (10-2; 4-1 Liberty League) enters the game listed at No. 16 in the latest USILA Coaches Poll ... The Dutchmen (10-1; 5-0) are 15th.

THE STANDINGS: The winner of the game will have sole possession of second place in the conference standings and the inside track on a bye into the semifinals of the league's post-season tournament.

ALL-TIME VS. UNION: The Engineers are 44-31 all-time against the Dutchmen with a home mark of 22-14 and conference record of 18-9.

RECENTLY: RPI has won each of the last three meetings with Union (2016 to 2018) ... The Dutchmen had a six-game winning streak against the Engineers from 2011 to 2015.

STREAKS: The longest winning streak Rensselaer has had against Union in the series history, which dates back to 1947, is 16 games (1947 to 1962) ... The Engineers lost 12 straight games to the Dutchmen from 1985 to 1995. 

LAST 10: Rensselaer is 4-6 in its last 10 games with Union, including 1-2 in Troy.

LAST SEASON: Parker Smith stopped 17 shots, including 14 in the second half, to lead RPI to an 8-4 victory over Union at Frank Bailey Field ... Smith held the Dutchmen to one goal per period by making two saves in the first quarter, one in the second, six in the third quarter and eight in the fourth ... Zach Lukas scored three goals, while JT Kelly scored once with two assists ... Cliff Kigar added two goals for Rensselaer ... Sam Bebout made 11 saves for Union, which had a 45-39 advantage in shots, including 33-12 in the second half.

RPI LAST TIME OUT: On Wednesday in Poughkeepsie, senior Lucas Bastarache scored five goals and Brian Doughty made 14 saves to lead the Engineers a 12-9 victory at Vassar ... Bastarache finished with six points and classmate JT Kelly (3 goals, 2 assists) had five ... Rensselaer got a goal and an assist from both Owen Putman and Cooper Urban ... Doughty added team-highs of four ground balls and two caused turnovers ... Stefan Fleps made 10 saves for Vassar, which got four goals and one assist from Mike Mullen.

HONORED: Rensselaer sophomore Brian Doughty was selected as the Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week after a win at Vassar ... He had five saves in both the first and second quarters, four in the third and two in the fourth to help the Engineers to a 12-9 win ... Six of the goals he allowed were assisted and one came while the Brewers were man-up.

DOUBLE CENTURY: RPI senior attack JT Kelly reached the 200-point plateau last 
Wednesday, believed to be the fourth from the Engineers to do so ... He has 89 career goals with 111 assists for exactly 200 points ... Tom Terzulli is first in school history with 357 points, followed by his twin brother Ben at 274 and Breannain McNeally with 243. 

UNION TO DATE: The Dutchmen won their first four games before losing at Williams on March 15 (12-11) ... Union has since won its last six games, including victories in each of its four league games (the Dutchmen were credited with a win over Bard though the game was not played).

LAST TIME OUT: On Saturday in Canton, Union sophomore Kieran McGovern scored three goals, including the game-winner 1:55 into overtime, as the Dutchmen came-from-behind to beat nationally-ranked St. Lawrence, 12-11 ... Hayden Frey had three goals and an assist in the win ... Jack Santilli made 11 saves between the pipes.

UPCOMING: Rensselaer plays at home again on Saturday when Clarkson visits for a 2pm league contest ... Union plays at Vassar on Saturday at 1pm ... The Engineers and Dutchmen both conclude the regular season on Wednesday, April 24.
