Jake Chekian (Rolling Hills Estates, CA/Palos Verdes) broke up Renlsow's perfect game with a walk in the top of the third.
The Yellowjackets then struck for a single run in the third, thanks to back-to-back singles from Jake Hertz (Briarcliff Manor, NY/Briarcliff) and Joseph Rende (Babylon, NY/Babylon). A an error on a sacrifice bunt attempt brought home the game's first run and a 1-0 U of R lead.
After a clean fourth, Rochester plated two runs in the fifth, thanks to an RBI-double from David Reith (Teirra Verde, FL/St. Petersburg) and a run-scoring single off the bat of Jacob Matzat (Sherwood, OR/Sherwood). The Yellowjackets then pulled away in the sixth, scoring four runs to take a 7-0 lead. The rally was highlighted by a solo homer from senior Jack Herman (Gansevoort, NY/Saratoga Springs) – his team-leading seventh of the year.
Rochester strung together three straight two-out hits in the eighth to add three more runs. Reith, Matzat and Aiden Finch (Los Gatos, CA/Los Gatos) all delivered base hits for the Jackets in the inning.
