ITHACA, N.Y. - The top-seeded The Ithaca College women's basketball team held off a feisty Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) team on Saturday afternoon en route to a 74-66 overtime semifinal win in the Liberty League Tournament. The victory sends IC to its second-straight Liberty League final, to be played on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Vassar College. The second-seeded Brewers defeated third-seeded St. Lawrence University 79-49 to earn their spot in the final.

The third-seeded Engineers, who are now 17-10, were led by senior
Sam Krumbhaar, who scored 30 points with six rebounds. Classmate
Celia Tomlinson added 13 points and nine rebounds with two assists, four steals and two blocked shots.
Ines Ortea, RPI's third senior, had nine points and seven boards.
For the Bombers, who are now 21-5, senior KellyAnne O'Reilly poured in a career-high 30 points to lead the way. She also grabbed five rebounds and recorded two steals; one in overtime to help secure the win. O'Reilly shot 10-for-18, including 3-for-7 from distance, and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the line. Classmate Cassidy O'Malley netted 19 points to go with seven rebounds, five blocks, four steals and two assists.

RPI had a fast start in the first quarter, going on a 7-0 run in the opening minutes, five of which were scored by Krumbhaar. Another 3-pointer from Krumbhaar at the midway mark gave the Engineers a 12-2 edge on the Bombers.

Ithaca scored the next six points on layups from O'Malley, Lindsey Albertelli and O'Reilly, closing the gap to just four points with 27 remaining in the quarter.

Things fluctuated through the second quarter as well.

A
Celia Tomlinson layup just 38 seconds in pushed the Engineers' lead back up to six points, 16-10. After coming within four points several times, Ithaca closed the gap to just three at the 5:06 mark as O'Malley put in a shot from distance.

RPI's
Ines Ortea then hit a layup, was fouled and converted the ensuing free throw before
Nicole DaPra drilled a 3-pointer to give the Engineers a 28-19 advantage with 4:12 on the clock.

A 3-pointer from O'Reilly followed by a steal and a layup from O'Malley closed the gap to just four points, 28-24, with 31 seconds left in the half. Krumbhaar, however, closed the half with a jumper for RPI, sending IC into the break trailing by six.

The Bombers and RPI traded baskets to open up the third quarter. O'Reilly then netted back-to-back layups to close the distance to just two points, 34-32, with 4:19 remaining.

Ithaca took its first lead of the game with 2:09 remaining in the third quarter. O'Reilly netted another shot from behind the arc to bring the Bombers within one, before junior Juliana Gamboa hit a pair of free throws to give IC the one-point edge.

An one-one play from O'Reilly and a layup from Cannon with 49 seconds left brought that lead up to six, 42-36, and the Bombers ultimately went into the final quarter of regulation with a five-point lead.

A quarter-opening 3-pointer from Krumbhaar brought RPI with three points again, but the teams would go on to trade baskets for several minutes.

Following a pair of free throws from Tomlinson and another 3-pointer from Krumhaar, the Engineers would tie things up at 51 with 5:09 left on the clock.

Ithaca grabbed the lead back on a pair of free throws from O'Malley, but the margin was never more than three points. The game would go on to the be tied twice more, ultimately leading to overtime.

The Bombers came out of the game in overtime firing on all cylinders to go on a 10-0 run. Cannon started things off with a layup, followed by buckets from O'Malley and O'Reilly. Cannon and O'Malley then each hit a pair of free throws to give the Bombers a 70-60 lead with 1:20 on the clock. DaPra hit a 3-pointer for RPI with 30 seconds on the clock to bring the Engineers within six, but O'Reilly closed out the game with two free throws.

Ithaca shot 24-for-60 (40 percent) on the day, highlighted by 75 percent shooting in overtime.
