At Rensselaer, we are proud to recognize the student-athletes who are members of the Class of 2020. We thank them for their hard work, dedication and tremendous efforts in representing the Institute in a first-class manner academically and athletically. We wish them well as they continue to complete the semester and become Rensselaer alumni / alumnae. 

While at Rensselaer:
Two-year cross country captain ... Ran career-best in 5K (19:43.1 at Louisville Classic) and 6K (24:03.4 at Connecticut College) as senior ... Captain in track & field ... Captain ... Ran mile 3000 and 5000 ... college-bests in each in mile (5:51.98 at Utica), 3000 meters (11:01.74 at Utica) and 5000 (18:50.20 at Liberty League Championship) as senior ... Civil Engineering major ...  Research team won GeoWall 2020 competition held by Geo-Institute (G-I) of American Society of Civil Engineers Geo-Congress in Minneapolis.

Favorite sports memory during career?
"I have many favorite memories from my time as an athlete here at RPI. One of them was during my junior year at the Outdoor Liberty League Meet hosted by RPI. It was an amazing race where I PRed and placed fourth. I will always be proud of this race and I will always remember the support I felt from my teammates in the race and those who stood outside in the cold rain for 40 minutes to cheer for me. Most of my Liberty League races were just as special to me." - March 2020

What makes Rensselaer so special?
"To me I think my team and my department (civil) made my time here at RPI so enjoyable. I was able to grow in my sport with the help of my coaches and teammates. I had a lot of cool opportunities throughout my time here in both athletics and academics." - March 2020

What are your post-graduation plans?
"I am planning on coming back for the fall semester to finish up my Master's in civil engineering. This summer I have a internship at Langan Engineering. I hopefully will continue running some fun longer races!?" - March 2020

"Kassie always brought a smile to practice, and her fun, care-free attitude is one of the reasons that made her a great leader, but also what made her a great racer. In her junior year she broke out and ran a 10k in 39 min, a pace per 5k that was a over a minute faster than she raced in a 5k when she came to RPI. Kassie is part of a lineage of girls that loves to run a lot and race long distances, and she has done a great job passing that passion down to the girls in classes below her. She was a fantastic leader and always had her finger on the pulse of the team." - March 2020
