Senior Celebration Series July 13

Senior Celebration Series: July 13

At Rensselaer, we are proud to recognize the student-athletes who are members of the Class of 2020. We thank them for their hard work, dedication and tremendous efforts in representing the Institute in a first-class manner academically and athletically. We wish them well in their futures.

SENIOR CELEBRATION SERIES: Michael Arboleda

While at Rensselaer:
Outfield/Designated Hitter … Played 62 career games … Hit .315 with five doubles and one home run … Scored 18 runs and knocked in 25 … All-Liberty League once … CoSIDA National Academic All-America in 2020 … Biomedical Engineering major ... Dean's Honor List.

From the coaching staff:
"Michael is one of the hardest workers on the field, in the weight room, and in the classroom. He was a leader by example in our program for five years because of his tireless work ethic and constant pursuit of success." - March 2020

What others say:
Was a great teammate and role model. No matter what it was, you could go talk to Mike about anything and he was willing to help. Whether it was baseball, academics or even life, he used his experience to help me and others. In addition, Mike was also an outfielder so I looked up to him a lot. He showed me that you have to work hard even if no one is watching, especially in the weight room, and he also showed me what it is to be a great teammate and how to have everyone's back no matter what.” - March 2020

"Definitely our physically strongest teammate. Mike is one of the most hard working and dedicated teammates that I've ever been around. A gritty hitter who we could always depend on to get the big hit late in a game." - March 2020

"I have looked up to Arbo since I met him freshman year. He is a beast on the field, in the weight room, and in the classroom. Arbo is always doing the right thing and is a big team player. I think he is easily one of the most looked up to players on the team. He was able to use this to demonstrate what it means to be an RPI baseball player and I think he does it very well." - April 2020

"Arbo has more respect on the team than any other guy. He earned it by being the most genuine and friendly guy on the team. The fact that he could lift more than the whole team combined helped as well. Arbo is someone all the guys looked up to a lot, and as a result, he will be missed greatly." - April 2020

"Leads by example. Work ethic second to none." - April 2020

"The silent knight. Always kept to himself but was a smart, soft-spoken and caring guy who picked you up when you needed it. Always on the grind and very responsible." - April 2020

SENIOR CELEBRATION SERIES: Jeanine Moreau

While at Rensselaer:
Defense … Played 70 career games … Two goals (Sage, New Paltz) and one assist (Bard) … Mechanical Engineering and Design Innovation & Society dual major ... Dean's Honor List.

From the coaching staff:
"Jeanine, better known as JMo, made an immediate impact upon arrival four years ago. She was fearless in her defending and could battle with the best attackers on any opposing team. As the most unsocial butterfly of them all, JMo’s housemates can go days without seeing her. That didn’t stop her from making her presence felt or hold back the impact she made on the program during her four years. We will miss seeing her family at games, especially when the family dog came along for the ride." - March 2020

What others say:
"This girl knows how to push through injuries. I watched her get taped together before games and then she would still go out there and go 100%. Her attitude was consistent and joyous, no matter the situation. Whether it was a rough day for the team or being in pain she was happy and ready to go play her hardest. Nothing was going to stop her from playing the sport that she loves." - March 2020

Jeanine "JMo" can change anyone's mood from sad to happy with just a smile. She practices leadership in the form of consistency. She is true to herself and always plays her best for her team regardless of any injuries or struggles she may be facing. As an outside defender, this is essential for the success of our defensive line. She is a great competitor!” - March 2020

JMo was as tough as they come. She would always persevere in the face of injury and adversity. At outside back, she was an essential component who strengthened our defense.” - March 2020

"She is a very passionate player, while being the most humble." - April 2020

“Jmo, you’re the kindest yet toughest player out there. Keep killing it on and off the field. I’ll miss you Jmo!” - April 2020

SENIOR CELEBRATION SERIES: Dan Pleva

While at Rensselaer:
Played 12 career rounds … Shot season-best 77 in final round of Transylvania Invitational as senior … Materials Engineering major.

From the coaching staff:
Dan always carried himself with composure and respected everyone involved in the program. He would always work hard and be tough during team activities, helping motivate all members of the team to deliver maximum effort.” - June 2020

What others say:
"One of the nicest teammates I have ever had. He played a significant role in keeping the team morale high." - March 2020

"Dan and I first met when we played New Hampshire high school golf against each other. I believe it was my sophomore or junior year when we played in a match together and he told me he was going to play golf at RPI. I hadn't even heard of RPI then, but here we are now. Dan is probably the best cartner (playing partner to share a golf cart with) to have. Whether he's having his best round or worst, you can expect him to keep everyone laughing the entire round with his short, humorous, perfectly-timed comments. Wish him the best after school and look forward to seeing the great things he accomplishes after RPI." - April 2020

A teammate who never fails to lighten the mood of any situation and shed light on the broader picture of golf. He is always the one who reminds us to not take ourselves too seriously and helps us all enjoy the game a little more each time we play." - April 2020

“Dan has been the ultimate ‘glue’ guy for our team the past four years. His contagious positive energy always kept us having fun no matter where we were and he will surely be missed. I am confident Dan will make a positive impact wherever he goes from here.” - April 2020

"Whenever I play with Dan I always have a great time no matter how bad the weather is or how bad we are both playing. He always finds a way to make me laugh." - April 2020

“He was always pushing himself on the course and in the weight room.” - April 2020

“Dan has been a key role in my transition to RPI. He was the first person I met on the team before my time at RPI and he gave really great advice before heading to college. Dan works really hard and I have learned a lot from him.” - April 2020
