SCS July 14

Senior Celebration Series: July 14

At Rensselaer, we are proud to recognize the student-athletes who are members of the Class of 2020. We thank them for their hard work, dedication and tremendous efforts in representing the Institute in a first-class manner academically and athletically. We wish them well in their futures.

SENIOR CELEBRATION SERIES: Cam Caswell

While at Rensselaer:
Shortstop … Played 127 games in career, all as starter … Hit .306 with 23 doubles, four triples and five home runs … Scored 89 runs and knocked in 86 … Walked 57 times and stole 14 bases … All-Liberty League twice … Civil Engineering major.

From the coaching staff:
"Cam is fiery. She wears her emotions on her sleeve. She competes for her teammates and is always pushing herself to be better for them. She thrives on knowing she has done her job to help the team succeed." - April 2020

What others say:
The loudest shortstop you will ever meet. Cam will literally do anything to stop a ball in the infield, especially if it means diving and face-planting to field a grounder. Put this girl on ESPN's Top Plays because she's constantly fielding every ball while making it look insane.” - March 2020

"This girl plays all out - she may show it differently, but she truly cares about the sport and her teammates on the diamond. She played with passion in a big way and came in clutch on numerous occasions. There's a reason why other teams envied her, but those same reasons were what made her such an amazing player and teammate." - March 2020

"Cam is someone I've loved playing with for the past four years. Her infectious laugh and humor makes going to the field everyday that much better. She is so selfless and will do anything to make sure her teammates are accomplishing all of their goals. She is one of the best people, on or off the field, that I have ever met and I will miss seeing her every day." - March 2020

"Cam has been the most fun teammate I've ever played with. Whether it's watching her dance in the dugout or listening to her make fun of the umps, she always knows how to keep the game interesting. Her energy was unmatched and the team and game would not have been the same without her." - April 2020

"Cam is an amazing player who has impressed me since I first saw her play. While we have always been incredibly different people, we became friends on and off the field. I truly wish her the best and am sad that our time together was cut short. She brought an energy to the team that nobody else will ever be able to match and I will miss seeing her out on the field next year." - April 2020

SENIOR CELEBRATION SERIES: Noah Falasco

While at Rensselaer:
Distance … Ran 22 meets cross country … All-Liberty League three times … All-Region twice … All-America once … Ran 800, 1000, 1500, mile, 3000, 5000 and relays in track & field … National Champion in DMR as freshman … All-America in outdoor 1500 as sophomore and junior … All-America in mile as junior and senior in indoor … Industrial and Management Engineering major.

From the coaching staff:
"It is rare to find someone in our sport who loves to compete as much as Noah does and to find the same someone who believes in them self as much as Noah does. Once he decided to commit himself to training at a high level he was in rarefied air. The streak of improvements from season to season that he was on since outdoor sophomore year is unprecedented. I have not doubt we would have seen something special from him this spring had his senior year not been cut short. Noah the runner is someone that we will miss, but Noah the person who started to become a leader of the team his senior year will be missed much more." - March 2020

What others say:
"An absolute legend. Noah was always ready for whatever anyone threw at him, and it was extremely admirable. Pushing Sunday runs on the bike path will not be the same without Noah." - March 2020

One of the best competitors I have ever been lucky to know. He always trained to win and trained to be the best. His motivation is inspirational.” - March 2020

Noah is usually quiet but when he races he is an unstoppable force and I feel so bad that he won’t get the chance to finish out his senior season.” - April 2020

"She is a very passionate player, while being the most humble." - April 2020

“A true legend and the GOAT of RPI Running.” - April 2020

“I have never seen somebody be able to set their mind to something and then do it the way Noah does every single time.” - April 2020

SENIOR CELEBRATION SERIES: Kevin Frega

While at Rensselaer:
Captain … Midfield … Played 41 career games … Two goals and two assists … Had 49 ground balls and three caused turnovers … Won 56% (84 of 150) of face offs … Mechanical Engineering major ... Dean's Honor List … Intern at Trane.

From the coaching staff:
Kevin's willingness to do whatever the team needed was a true representation of our program pillar of Service. Little things like holding the door and grabbing the ball buckets stand out, but also his ability to take on various roles on the field ... pole, D-Mid, O-Mid, FO. Servant Leadership at its finest, no doubt! - March 2020

What others say:
"Thank you for everything you have done for this team. You embody what it means to be a member of this team. You led through your hard work, constant grit and by example. I appreciate everything you have done for me and given me someone to model my life on, on and off the field. Best of luck to you in the next step and always keep working hard." - March 2020

"Kevin played the same position as I and at our position, we considered him the ‘Dad’, which he lived up. He is an incredible leader and great friend. I wish him luck in his future endeavors, but I know he won't really need it as he is really on top of his stuff." - March 2020

The all-around, truly ideal student-athlete. Kevin is by far the most admirable student-athlete to have ever participated in organized athletics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He embodies the idea of leadership and pushing his teammates to be the best they can be. He will not accept failure, but instead of allowing failure to perpetuate he works patiently and encouragingly, something that is not common for upperclassman or athletic leaders. Most upperclassman or athletic leaders prefer to combat failure or mistakes with negative reinforcement, which is human nature, but Kevin takes a different route. He seeks to help people who struggle instead of continuing to put them down. In addition, he is the best student I have ever come across. Kevin succeeds not only because of his natural intelligence, but also because of his relentless effort and commitment to learning and understanding every piece of material in every class. I have been in class with him only twice, and I saw with complete certainty that he has grasped the material better than I did. He is the reason I was able to succeed in those classes." - April 2020

“Kevin is the ideal model of an RPI lacrosse player. He is extremely disciplined in everything he does, and he is a great leader.” - April 2020

"The best role model I can think of for a senior captain. Everyone on the team looked up to him and learned from him everyday." - April 2020
