Senior Celebration Series: Men's Basketball

At Rensselaer, we are proud to recognize the student-athletes who are members of the Class of 2021. We thank them for their hard work, dedication and tremendous efforts in representing the Institute in a first-class manner academically and athletically. We wish them well in all their future endeavors.

JEFFREY COULTER

Favorite RPI Athletics Memory: My favorite memory during my career was during the first round of the NCAA Tournament when we were in the hotel before the first game. We went down to the hotel hot tub and the team we were playing the next day was all in the hot tub already so we had to hang out in the pool. We then proceeded to beat them in a close game the next day and as soon as we get into the locker room, Dom yells, “That’s our hot tub tonight!”

What Makes Rensselaer So Special: Rensselaer has a great community of people and the friends and connections I’ve made will last a lifetime.

WHAT OTHERS SAY:

  • Jeff is a very genuine person who also has an incredible work ethic. He has always carried himself well and does things the right way for others to follow. Jeff has great character and has helped the team improve year after year.
  • Jeff was a great friend/teammate. He was always working hard in practice and pushed everyone because of that. Jeff is a great guy off the court as well, is a super hard worker in school and is a great friend. His positive energy was contagious and it was great to be around.
  • He’s a great leader, teammate and friend. Always puts others before himself and does it with a smile.
  • From a coach: Jeff was a captain and, along with Legend and Patrick, the other two captains, did a great job helping our team stay together and positive during this challenging year. His hard work and attention to detail over the course of his career were examples to all of us. As a result he got better every year and was an instrumental part of our record-breaking season in 2019-20. Jeff will be missed not only for his play but for how much his teammates and coaches enjoyed being around him.

WHAT OTHERS SAY:

  • Legend was always the guy you could count on for a good laugh, but when it came time for basketball he would lock in and work hard. He carried the team's energy and was always bringing a smile to our faces, which would would make practice a little more bearable. Legend always wanted the best for everyone and rarely thought about himself. We will all miss Legend.
  • Legend is an awesome teammate and is great to be around in practice. He makes things enjoyable at the least enjoyable times and is just flat out hard to guard.
  • Legend is the ultimate glue of our team. He picks people up, makes people laugh and always pushes guys to get better in practice. He plays the game with a lot of heart and passion and contributed to us immensely every day.
  • From a coach: Legend competed hard every day and enjoyed being around his teammates. He created an environment where everyone celebrated and truly enjoyed the success of their teammates. Legend will be missed for his leadership and selfless attitude.

  • Great player on the court and a great friend off the court. He’s selfless and loves to go to war with his brothers each and every day.
  • Pat is a great player and a great leader on and off the court. He carries himself in a respectful manner and is well liked by all of his peers. As a captain he shows that he cares about each and every one of his teammates and wants nothing but the best for them. His determination to win is unmatched.

This has not only helped him have a great career, but also helped our whole team play with confidence and joy. We are excited that Patrick will be making big shots at ECAV again next year, while earning his M.S. at Rensselaer.
