SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's swimming & diving team won all 17 events in a dual meet with Skidmore College and the Engineers came away with their fifth consecutive victory, downing the Thoroughbreds 206-68. RPI is now 5-2, while Skidmore drops to 2-4.

Matthew Youngbar, Mike Dowd and Aleksey Makarov each had two wins in individual events with Makarov and Dowd also helping the 200 medley relay team to a win. Alex Aung and Jimmy Zhen also swam on 200 medley team as well as the victorious 200 free relay squad. Aung had an individual win, too.

After the 200 medley relay team edged another group from Rensselaer, 1:38.51-1:39.06, Youngbar clocked a time of 10:04.99 in the 1000 free, coming in nearly 25 seconds in front of the runner-up, Skidmore's Miles Herman. Youngbar, a senior, went on to capture the 200 butterfly in 2:00.00.

Dowd had his first individual win in the 100 backstroke before taking the 100 free in 48.86. He won the latter in nearly three seconds with the runner-up, Gavin Schiavi of the Thoroughbreds, touching in 52.15. Makarov followed with his first win in the next event, the 100 breaststroke. He later won the 200 breast in 2:12.61, which was five seconds in front of teammate Michael Lee's time of 2:17.80. Lee went on to win the 200 individual medley in 2:03.20.

Aung, a senior, earned his individual victory in the 50 free, defeating Schiavi 23.40-23.50.

Freshman Jake Fassora and senior Matt Abraham had multiple wins as well, with Fassora winning the 100 butterfly and swimming second on the victorious 200 free relay team. Abraham earned the only points off both diving boards as he was the only competitor.

The Engineers are back in competition on Saturday when they host Hamilton College at Robison Pool beginning at 1pm.
