GAME DAY! Eight Home Games in Next Two Days

FIELD HOCKEY (5-6; 0-3 Liberty League)

RPI's busy week began on Monday when it played Russell Sage at UAlbany, defeating the Gators 7-0. A home tilt on Friday at 4pm against conference foe William Smith is the Engineers' next action, followed by a trip to Rochester for a league game on Sunday evening (5pm).

WOMEN'S TENNIS (1-1; 0-0 Liberty League)

The doubles tandem of Lorna Flores Gonzalez and Nikki Ridenour advanced into the second round of the national ITA Cup in Georgia, earning All-America with their first round victory. Action continues on Friday with a match against the top-seeded team (12pm).

MEN'S TENNIS (0-0; 0-0 Liberty League)

Sophomore Aiden Drover-Mattinen, the No. 1 seed, has advanced into the semifinals of the national ITA Cup in Georgia and ha a chance to play into the final on Friday at 10:30am on Friday. Drover-Mattinen, who earned All-America based on his earlier results, also partnered with Andy Zhu in the doubles but they were defeated in the first round.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY (0-4-0; 0-0-0 ECAC Hockey)

The Engineers, who lost at Boston University (4-0) and Providence (2-0) last weekend, make their regular season home debut on Friday when they host Mercyhurst for the first of a pair of matinee tilts at the Houston Field House. Friday's game begins at 3pm with Saturday's initial face off at 2pm. Click HERE for the game program.

WOMEN'S SOCCER (3-4-3; 1-1-2 Liberty League)

It's a back-to-back Liberty League weekend for RPI, which hosts RIT on Friday at 4pm and nationally-ranked William Smith on Saturday at 4pm. Both games are at East Campus Stadium with the contest against the Tigers serving as Senior Day. The Engineers are coming off a 1-1 tie against Union in their only game last week.

MEN'S SOCCER (4-4-4; 2-1-1 Liberty League)

The Engineers played to a scoreless draw at Western New England on Tuesday and then won a conference road match at Union on Saturday, 2-1. RPI hops on the bus for a pair of weekend games in Western New York, beginning at RIT on Friday (4pm) before a contest at Hobart on Saturday (2pm).

MEN'S HOCKEY (2-0-0; 0-0-0 ECAC Hockey)

RPI posted six goals in its first game, a 6-3 victory over Mercyhurst, before winning 3-2 in overtime on Saturday to close out the series with a sweep. The Engineers are back at the Houston Field House on Friday and Saturday nights with LIU and Army serving as the opposition. Both games begin at 7pm. Click HERE for the game program.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY AND MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

The Engineers impressed at the James Earley Invitational at Westfield State with the men winning and the women placing second in their respective races. There were 24 teams in the former and 25 in the latter. This weekend is another large meet as the Engineers compete in the Rowan University Border Battle in Southern New Jersey on Saturday morning.

FOOTBALL (4-2; 2-0 Liberty League)

Rensselaer's third and final trip to Western New York yielded a 42-14 win at Buffalo State and now the Engineers are back at home for the first time since September 17. Hobart visits East Campus Stadium for a Liberty League contest on Saturday beginning at noon. Click HERE for the game program.

ALSO IN ACTION LAST WEEK

Rensselaer's swimming & diving teams began their seasons last Saturday with both the women and men dropping dual meets to RIT. The golf team was also in action and the Engineers won their fourth tournament of the fall, capturing the Skidmore College Fall Invitational
