MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Both the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's and men's tennis teams had student-athletes in action on the second day of the national ITA Cup but the Engineers were unable to advance further in doubles and singles, respectively.
The duo of
Lorna Flores Gonzalez and
Nikki Ridenour  faced the No. 1 pairing of Shianna Guo and Sylwia Mikos, a pair of sophomores from The University of Chicago, and lost a tight, three-set match, 4-6, 6-3, 10-6, in the quarterfinals.Â
In men's singles, sophomore Aiden Drover-Mattinen played in the semifinals but lost to the No. 4 seed, Tristan Bradley of Bowdoin, 6-2, 6-1.
Drover-Mattinen, who was the top seed in the 16-competitor field, finishes as an All-America, as do Flores Gonzalez and Ridenour.
