Women's Basketball Defeated by Conn College

WALTHAM, Mass. - The Connecticut College women's basketball team led from start to finish in a 52-43 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Brandeis Judges Invitational at Red Auerbach Arena.

Conn's Rebecca Oberman-Levine shot 10-for-16 from the field en route to a career-high 22 points and all-tournament team honors. She also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds to notch her second double-double in as many games. Catie Donadio  turned in a stellar performance as well, finishing with career highs of 12 points and nine boards.

RPI was led in scoring by Marley Mueller, who had 12 points. Ashlyn O'Neil, who had 15 points on Friday, scored six and was RPI's representative on the All-Tournament Team.

The Camels got off to a hot start, with a three-pointer by Hallie O'Toole setting the tone on the game's first possession. Oberman-Levine followed with back-to-back jumpers to extend the margin to 7-0, and Conn never let the lead dip below five the rest of the quarter.

RPI trailed by eight heading into the second but made up some ground behind a 7-1 run, cutting Conn's lead to 17-15 with 3:11 remaining in the half. Mueller made a free throw, followed by a pair from the stripe by Brielle Sharry and a made jumper by Mueller. The Camels recovered in time to score the final six points of the stanza - four from Oberman-Levine and two from Donadio - and took a 27-19 lead into the break.

Conn opened the second half with eight straight points to take its largest lead at 35-19. Donadio contributed four points and an assist in the spurt, leaving the Camels with a double-digit lead that they protected for the remainder of the contest.

Conn's defense didn't allow more than 12 points in any quarter while limiting the Engineers to 28 percent shooting. RPI went 0-for-15 from three-point range
