TROY, N.Y. - Dartmouth College scored the game's only two goals in the third period and the Big Green spoiled a season-high 30 saves by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) senior goaltender Amanda Rampado in the Engineers' first home ECAC Hockey matchup, winning 2-0 at the Houston Field House.

Dartmouth's (1-3, 1-3 ECAC Hockey) Annie King scored the game-winner halfway through the third period with Sydney Herrington adding an insurance empty netter in the last 1:06 of regulation. Maggie Emerson was credited with her first shutout of the season on a 17-save effort while Celine Pietraszek recorded a game-high two points with assists on both Big Green goals.

After an even start to the game, RPI (2-9, 0-3 ECAC Hockey) had a chance to open the scoring after Maddy Papineau crashed a rebound to slide the puck across the face of the crease to Marah Wagner. Wagner shot the puck just wide, and the contest remained scoreless going into the first intermission.

Rensselaer took the ice in the second period with an early combination play from Papineau and Sabrina Beaudoin, but Emerson continued to deny the Cherry and White their first goal of the game. Dartmouth outshot RPI 17-9 before the second intermission, but Rampado came up with 11 saves to keep the stalemate intact for the third period.

Rampado started the final period with six saves before denying Dartmouth's Jenna Donohue on a breakaway, 1-on-1 opportunity. However, King was able to net one 9:53 into the third period with assists from Currie Putrah and Pietraszek. RPI pulled Rampado out of the net with two minutes remaining in regulation to gain an extra skater, but the Dartmouth defense held strong. Herrington connected with Pietraszek to seal the 2-0 win after an RPI turnover.

Rensselaer was led offensively by Wagner with four shots on net while Hannah Price and Taylor Larsen each recorded three blocks on defense.

RPI takes on Harvard in their second home conference game of the weekend at 3pm on Saturday. Dartmouth visits Union on Saturday at 3pm.
