SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Freshman
Joseph Perry made 13 saves, including 10 in the second half to help the 15th-ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's lacrosse team to a 12-10 victory over Skidmore College, on Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field. With the win, the Engineers improve to 8-1 overall (2-0 Liberty League), while the Thoroughbreds drop to 5-3 (0-1 Liberty League).
RPI built a 4-1 lead midway through he second quarter, thanks to tallies from four different players.
Rhys Zoldi got the Engineers on the board after Skidmore struck for the opening goal.

Luke Murphy and
Connor Glosner followed, before the T'breds ended the run with a goal by Charlie McFadden with 8:18 left in the first half.
Trevor Tocchet potted his second goal of the year to put RPI ahead 5-2, but Tommy McGarrahan answered less than three minutes later. Murphy and Zoldi came right back to give RPI a 7-3 lead at halftime.
Glosner helped the Engineers outscore Skidmore 3-2 to open the second half, scoring two of his game-high four goals in the third. He then opened the fourth with 21st of the year, giving Rensselaer an 11-6 advantage with 12:27 to play.
The Thoroughbreds crept back into the game throughout the rest of the quarter. McGarrahan made it an 11-8 game with 9:40 remaining, but
Cooper Urban answered for the Engineers to regain a four-goal cushion.
Skidmore then tallied twice with over seven minutes left, but the Engineers were able to shut the door after that and hold on for the win.
Perry's workload grew as the game went along, stopping one shot in the first quarter, two in the second, six in the third and four in the fourth. His counterpart, Collin Kuester, finished with 15 stops on the day.
The Engineers are back in action next Saturday, when they visit RIT (2pm). Skidmore travels to Vassar on Saturday (3:30pm).
