Women's Soccer Wins to Extend Unbeaten Streak

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Sarah Sedlacek scored in the fourth minute and Bryana Swinson doubled the lead four minutes into the second half to help the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory at Bard College in a Liberty League matchup.

Haley Cole also scored for the Engineers, who are now 2-0-1 in their last three games and 2-3-2 overall. They are 1-0-0 in the conference. The Raptors, meanwhile, drop to 2-5-1 and 0-2-0.

Sedlacek notched her second of the season off an assist from Rachel Borra with just 3:17 gone in the first half. The play started with a short throw-in on the right sideline that was handled and crossed to the center of the field. Borra controlled the ball and touched it to Sedlacek, who arced a left-footed shot over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

A Tulsi Pari run down the right side helped get the second goal on the board. She caught up to a long ball and crossed it into the box, where it was headed toward the goal by Swinson. Her attempt was blocked right back to her and she finished with her right foot.

Melissa Sellards set up Cole's goal with a free kick that she placed in a position for Cole to run into and take out of the air for a re-direct into the net.

A pair of RPI goalkeepers, Megan Wampner (3 saves) and Sierra Skelding (1) combined for the clean sheet, while Seymone Rosenberg made seven saves on the opposite end.

The Engineers return home for their next game, which is Tuesday against Utica (7pm), while the Raptors travels to Vassar on Wednesday (4pm).
