SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Junior Avery Eugster scored 22 points, including a career-high five three pointers, with five rebounds, and six assists to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's basketball team to a 70-57 victory over Skidmore College. The Engineers improve to 13-4 overall and 7-3 in the Liberty League, while the Thoroughbreds are 8-9 and 6-4.

Eugster, a forward, had 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists in the first half when RPI broke out to a 10-point lead at the break.

After falling behind 3-0 and 5-3, the Engineers outscored Skidmore 12-0 over a seven minute span. A Jonny Angbazo triple put Rensselaer ahead 6-5 and Eugster made it 8-5 with a layup off an assist from Angbazo. It became 10-5 on another Angbazo hoop and 12-5 when the senior forward scored again. A triple by Brian Kelly with 12:22 remaining in the half made it 15-5.

The lead grew to as many as 13 points before the Thoroughbreds cut it to two points, 29-27, with 2:36 left but Eugster made a three to answer. He later had another in the waning seconds for a 38-28 advantage. It was a 9-1 run for the visitors.

RPI extended its lead in the second half, gaining its large at 15 on a Eugster trey with 1:27 remaining.
