LG Rivalries Dutchman Shoes Watch Party Set

Free raffles featuring LG Electronics to be held

TROY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football team concluded the 2022 regular season with a 23-13 victory over Union College in the Dutchman Shoes Trophy Game and LG Electronics USA was on site the entire week leading up to the contest - the oldest football rivalry in New York State - as part of LG Channels' original series "The Rivalries." The final episode of the first season of the docu-series that features the Engineers and Dutchmen will be featured in a watch party on Friday night at the Houston Field House following the women's hockey game.

Included with the viewing, which will be shown on the four-sided video board, will be free food and drinks along with free raffles that will include LG electronics. Among the raffle prizes will be LG - 55" Class UQ75 Series LED 4K UHD Smart webOS TVs, LG - TONE PLATINUM+ Bluetooth Headset, and an LG Soundbar.

Prior to the viewing, RPI hosts Union in a critical ECAC Hockey contest beginning at 6pm. Fans with a Rensselaer ID who attend the game can receive up to seven raffle tickets, while community members can get up to three. The raffle, which will have at least 10 prizes in total, will take place at the conclusion of the viewing of "The Dutchman Shoes", which runs for approximately 25 minutes. Prize winners must be present.

Admission to Rensselaer women's hockey games is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. There is not a charge for RPI students with ID or Engineers' men's hockey season ticket holders.

The Rivalries exclusive content series is part of a three-year partnership between LG Electronics USA with the NCAA, Turner Sports, and CBS Sports for category-exclusive marketing and distribution rights to NCAA Championship competitions that will expand the reach of college sports to legions of current fans and generations of new ones. LG's support of the NCAA Championships includes multiple initiatives to inspire student-athletes, including the recent launch of the NCAA Championships Channel, which features NCAA Fall, Winter and Spring championships, both live and on-demand via LG's exclusive free streaming service, LG Channels.

Learn more about LG's NCAA partnership, The Rivalries docu-series, and the NCAA Channel exclusively on LG Smart TVs, by visiting LG.com/NCAA.

For those unable to attend Friday's watch party, LG Smart TV owners can catch up on all of season one's episodes as featured content on the video-on-demand tab on LG Channels, or find encore presentations of "The Rivalries" on the NCAA Channel (100). Each episode highlights a different sports rivalry as told through interviews, historical moments, and the most recent game footage.

The rivalry between Rensselaer and Union dates back to November 1886 with the teams playing for the Dutchman Shoes Trophy since October 1950. It was originally presented by student committees from the schools after much looting was done on both campuses following the 1949 contest between the two schools.
