CANTON, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football team used a big second half, led by quarterback

Hayden Faraday as the Engineers defeated the St. Lawrence Saints by a final score of 37-7. With the win, RPI improves to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the Liberty League, while St. Lawrence falls to 2-5 and 0-3 in league play.
Sterling Walker-Sutton started things of strong, returning a punt return for a touchdown for the second consecutive week. The pay went for 39 yard as the Engineers took an early 1-0 lead. St. Lawrence matched the score in the first quarter, as
Will Lederman found Cole Salyards for an 11 yard touchdown pass to even things up at 7-7.
Both sides struggled to find points until 30 seconds remained in the first half, as RPI moved the ball into their offensive zone to set up a
Jared Elstein goal from 34 yards out to give RPI the 10-7 lead heading into the half.
Quarterback
Jake Kazanowsky turned it on in the second half, leading the Engineers to the end zone in three consecutive drives as RPI opened up a 30-7 lead in the third quarter. Kazanowsky found
Hayden Faraday for a pair of passing touchdowns – the first coming from 35 yards out, while the second went for 27 yards.
Sean Kelly caught the other passing touchdown from Kazanowsky, a six-yard strike that fell inbetween both of Faraday's touchdown grabs.
Christian Buckley had the exclamation point for RPI, a rushing touchdown at the 11:35 mark of the 4
th quarter to give RPI the 37-7 lead.
Kazanowsky finished the day 15-for-22 for 204 yards passing and the three passing touchdowns. Faraday added 97 yards receiving on three catches, with freshman
Kayden White getting things done on the ground ahead of Buckley with 74 net yards on 12 rushing attempts.
Anthony D'Agostino led the defensive unit with six tackles – including four of the solo variety. Four others came up with five tackles apiece.
RPI returns to action next Saturday, Oct. 28 at 12 p.m. when they host the University of Rochester for Senior Day at ECAV Stadium.
