UTICA, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's track and field team had multiple standout performances on Saturday, as the team finished sixth at the Utica Holiday Classic.
Leading the way was freshman
Lauren Szalkowski, as she topped the leaderboard in the Women's 400 meters, scoring a time of 59.33 seconds. In addition, she teamed up with
Christine Mallette,
Katie Manning, and
Alyssa Fici to score a first place finish in the Women's 4x200 meter relay.
In the Women's 200 meter, Mallette and Manning finished 3-4 on the scoreboard with times of 26.46 and 26.71 to total 11 points in favor of the Engineers.
In the field portion of the events,
Siri Walsh scored points in both pole vault and triple jump for the Engineers.
RPI returns to action on Saturday, January 13 when the Engineers head to the Brandeis Reggie Poyau Invitational in Waltham, Mass.
