TROY, N.Y. - The Liberty League announced its weekly award winners and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athletes
Matt Lecky and Emma McGuinn have been selected. This is the third honor for Lecky this outdoor season and the fifth for McGuinn, both of whom run track.
Matt Lecky (Sr., Distance, Middletown, CT / Middletown) - Men's Track & Field Track Performer of the Week
Matt finished third in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:46.22 at the NCAA Outdoor Championship to earn All-America. He was second in the preliminaries at 3:48.62. He also competed in the 5000 meters and finished in 15:22.96, which was 20th.
Emma McGuinn (Fr., Hurdles, Broomall, PAÂ Academy of Notre Dame de Namur) - Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week
Emma made her NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship debut and registered a school record 14.073 to earn 12th of the 22 competitors in the women's 100 Hurdles. Seeded 19th going into the event, McGuinn fell short of qualifying for Saturday's final by just .17 seconds.
