ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Matt Lecky finished third in the 1500 meters and Cory Kennedy was sixth in the 5000 meters at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship and both earned National All-America with their finishes. It is the sixth all-time All-America for Lecky, a senior, and the third for Kennedy, a junior. Click HERE for the full list of RPI's multiple track & field / cross country All-America honorees.

Lecky also ran the 5000 meters, while Morgan Lee competed in the women's 5000. They finished 20th and 16th, respectively.

In the 1500 meters, Lecky spent time in a variety of positions throughout the race before pushing out a final lap of 56.45 to gain third place. It was his first outdoor All-America. He trailed only Ryan Wilson of MIT (3:45.18) and Jamie Moreland of Haverford (3:45.76) while crossing the finish line .23 ahead of Sam Llaneza of Lynchburg.

The men's 5000 meters included two from the Engineers with Kennedy charging hard down the stretch to take sixth place in 14:22.64. He was .02 ahead of seventh place Frank Csorba of Lynchburg (14:22.66) and .05 in front of Connor Riss of North Central (14:22.69). Lecky, who is second in school history for most track & field / cross country All-America certificates, finished in 15:22.96.

Lee started in the lead of the women's 5000 but was unable to hold it and finished in 17:27.07. Her best 400 meter time was 1:21.30, which brought her to the 600 meter mark. The senior held close to that in her next lap (1:21.57) before fading.
