TROY, N.Y.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) athletics department has announced the hiring of Michelle Broadhurst as the Athletics Academic Advisor.

Broadhurst will play a key role in helping RPI student-athletes succeed academically while staying in compliance with university, conference, and NCAA bylaws.

"I am thrilled to welcome Michelle Broadhurst to our RPI Athletics team," said Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics, Dr. Kristie Bowers. "With Michelle's impressive background and passion for developing student-athletes, I am confident she will make a positive impact immediately on our campus and within our department. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Michelle and her family to the RPI Athletics community!"

Broadhurst comes to Troy after spending the last 10 years in the Kueka College athletics department. Her most recent position was the Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Student Experience, where she managed scheduling for all athletics facilities, overseeing a front desk staff of 10 student workers, and driving increased student fan engagement through initiatives like the Lake Effect Student Fan Club and Wolves Cup competition.

Prior to stepping into the Assistant A.D. role, Michelle was the head cheerleading coach at Keuka. In recognition of her contributions, she received the Outstanding Achievement at Keuka College Award in August of 2022 and also earned with the 2021-2022 NADIIAA Community Service Award. Additionally, Broadhurst received community service honors for leading a department-wide fundraising effort that raised $16,000 for a student-athlete facing an unexpected medical crisis.

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from University at Buffalo, and a Master of Science in Management from Elmira College.
