POTSDAM, N.Y.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's basketball team outscored Clarkson 19-7 in the fourth quarter to close the weekend with a 68-55 road Liberty League victory.
Five different Engineers posted double-digit scoring efforts, with Julia Rowe's 12-point, 10-rebound double-double leading the way. Rowe was also active defensively with three steals and three blocks.
Ashlyn O'Neil finished with 11 points, and the trio of Siena Smith, Amanda Gallagher, and Marley Mueller finished had 10 points apiece.
After the Engineers took a 49-48 lead into the fourth quarter, RPI scored 17 of the first 19 points of the frame to push the narrow margin to 15.
RPI connected on 6-of-11 field goals in the final quarter, with three of the buckets coming from O'Neil in the clutch rally. The Engineer defense gave Clarkson a hard time as well, as the hosts only made one of their ten shots in the fourth.
Emilia Rojik supplemented the RPI offense with six points and six rebounds, while Smith pulled down seven boards. Tyler Hormazabal logged six points and a team-high five assists.
The Engineers will head into the holiday break with a 7-1 record, which marks their best start to a season since 2019-20. RPI will return to action on December 30 with a non-conference date with VTSU Castleton.
