EWING, N.J. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team kicked off their first match since September on Friday, but fell to The College of New Jersey by a final score of 7-2 for their first loss of the year.
The Engineers were bested in all three courts in doubles play, putting them down 3-0 early. However,
Nicole Ridenour came out with a three-set victory on the top singles court, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 for one point.
The other point for the Engineers came at No. 6 singles, as
Masha Karach had an 8-2 victory for the second point for RPI. Despite the results, the Engineers had three of their singles courts go to three games to decide a winner.
RPI returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 24 when they continue their trip to New Jersey with a visit to Stevens at 5:30 p.m.
